Adam had tried to play it off as oh, well, he'd really had a lot of magic done on him that week, what with getting the antlers and getting rid of the antlers and then he hadn't slept at all on Friday night, it had seemed like, and so he really wanted to chalk whatever was going on up to just general tiredness. Unfortunately, he'd seen the posting from Headmaster Schecter, and he knew that considering the gamut of students that had fallen ill with the exact same thing, it was kind of unlikely.
Frankly, he felt like his not-quite-eight-month-old son had more magical ability than he did right then. And that was just really not okay. At any rate, it had led to him sulking in his quarters, back behind his office, instead of joining anyone at dinner.
"Just a minute!" he yelled when he heard the knock on the door, getting up from the desk in his room, where he'd been trying to research what the hell was going on. He tugged a sweatshirt over his head (he'd realized he kind of hated wearing robes, and wouldn't do it unless he had to) and headed out into his office proper to answer the door, sporting a pretty sad pair of track pants and bare feet. He cracked the door a bit. "Can I help you, Mr. Way?" he asked, not meaning to be rude or standoffish, but wanting to keep Gerard out of his office.
