William was compiling a recommended reading list for the fourth-years who were working together on an interpretive constellation project for Divination and Astronomy when one of the smallest students he'd seen here, little Elsie Featherwayt, came up to his desk to solemnly tell him there was a man on the floor in the library.
It didn't sound like the man was being particularly threatening, but William double-checked his wand regardless, on edge whenever something out of the ordinary threatened. He thanked her and walked carefully back through the stacks, where Elsie's best friend Joo-Eun was peeping around one of the bookshelves at the man who was, indeed, curled up on the floor of the library with his face down-turned and hidden against his knees. It was probably harder, he imagined, to recognize your Herbology professor without the beard visible for easy identification.
William sent Joo-Eun back to the reading tables and hesitated briefly before approaching, crouching down on the floor beside Spencer. "Are you all right?" he asked quietly.
