Patrick huffed out a laugh. "Well sure, but how was I supposed to know that--"
He stopped abruptly, spotting the same movement Gerard did, but didn't let down his guard when he saw it was just a mouse, feeling suddenly more wary. Two more mice then darted out from the same area as the first one. Usually mice tend to stay hidden when there are people about, and Patrick advanced in the direction they'd run from, curious to see what was scaring the mice more than they were.
He motioned quietly for Gerard to have his back as he moved foward, toward a small nook in the dungeon, stopping a few feet away when he found a strange stick-like object.
"There's something over here," Patrick said quietly, though he hardly knew why he was compelled speak so softly.
