The historical language is definitely a problem when writing Holmes. I don't think I could do it. Crossover, on the other hand, Holmes/Watson from Snape or Harry's point of view ... *g* Quotes like the following are definitely inspiring:

Watson is difficult, yes. From a non-Watson POV, he certainly wouldn't come across as quite as slow. I think of him as a military man, good natured, heterosexual by default and not really knowing what it is that draws him to Holmes.
No, I don't know Ellid's fic, I normally don't read Snupin. But Snupin/Holmes sounds very intriguing. Do you happen to have a title or a link? Oh, and do you know Delta's fic where she lets Snape and Harry play Holmes and Watson?
