What is Galador? Galador is an Earth-like planet in the Marvel Comics Universe. It's primary race, the Galadorians, are a human-like race that were almost completely wiped out during what was called The Wraith War. When the Reality Stone began pulling immense numbers of people, places, and things from other worlds, the remaining Galadorians offered the refugees sanctuary on their world.
How do characters arrive within the game? Players with characters from current day Marvel 616 will have to discuss how their character gets to Galador with the mods. It won't be hard to come up with something, but it'll obviously be on a case-by-case basis.
Characters from anywhere other than CURRENT DAY Marvel 616 are just randomly pulled from their world with no warning. You can say they were doing whatever you want at the time they were pulled, whether it was sleeping, driving, fighting, eating, etc. They're engulfed by a bright white light, then suddenly find themselves in the middle of Mar-Vell Park in the city of Freedomtown, and are then greeted by a member of the Welcome Committee and brought to the Welcome Center.
...Who the hell is Cosmo? Cosmo is a former test animal of the Soviet Space Program. He was launched into Earth's orbit as part of an experiment but he drifted off into space at some point during the 1960's, arriving in Knowhere and at some point being mutated, he eventually came to serve as the station's security chief. He now resides as head of security of Freedomtown, in the refugee-inhabited areas of Galador. In other words... he's a talking, telepathic dog with a Russian accent.
What possessions will my character have when they arrive? If the character is from current-day Marvel 616, you can discuss what they bring to Galador with the mods. As long as it is realistic to be brought there, it can probably be done.
Characters from anywhere else will have the clothing on their back, and whatever is on their person at the time. Anything in their pockets, in a bag they're carrying at the time, etc. Other objects can be obtained as you play by talking to the mods.
Anyone arriving on Galador will be given, upon arrival, a communicator that allows texting to anyone with a communicator, as well as access to the network.
What is the setup of Galador now? Since a majority of the inhabitants were annihilated, the Galadorian Council condensed what was left of their people to one-half of the planet, and have sanctioned the remaining continents for use with refugee placement. For now, only one continent is being used, and currently contains the cities and locations listed here
What if my character is from a time before even typewriters existed? Each device has Speech-to-Text software included along with our own version of Siri or Alexa. It is very basic and easy to use. Your character will be taught how to use it in the Welcome Center.
How are living quarters assigned? When your character arrives, they will be assigned a basic, small apartment in the city of their choosing. Depending on what kind of money the character has, or the type of job they get, they can choose to upgrade in time to a house or other accommodations. It is also possible for a character's home to appear in-game, but this must be approved by the mods.
Do you allow original characters? As long as the character is written into an existing fandom, yes. But the character MUST have a full bio and must be approved by the mods. We also allow characters from original concept games that have previous game history.
Can my character leave Galador? Characters can leave the planet if they have access to proper transportation, but going to anything other than the few stars near Galador must be approved by the mods.
Can I play characters from cartoons, novels, video games, etc? Definitely! All we ask is that you find a suitable PB. If you need help finding one, the mods will be glad to help you.
How do various powers/abilities work here? Any powers or abilities your character has in their world will come with them here. If certain aspects of the powers don't translate well or make your character TOO godlike or uber-powerful, we may ask you to scale them down a little.
Galador isn't Earth, so do all of the same rules apply to vampires and similar species? Simply put, no. Since your characters are not on Earth, the sun does not affect vampires in the same way that the sun on Earth would. This is expected to be quite jarring for vampire characters, but a definite relief. At the same time, your vampire character can still choose to only come out at night.
Can characters use common technology here? Any cell phones, communicators, tablets, computers, etc will be able to communicate with anyone on Galador. Anything with internet access will be able to look up any info found on the internet on 616 Earth, but will NOT be able to communicate with anyone outside of Galador.
Are PBs identical or similar? We understand that due to the nature of the game, sometimes PBs will be used several times. This will be explained as lookalikes in different realities being possible. As such, the same PB cannot be used twice from the same reality/fandom. Also, mods have the right to put a cap on certain PBs if they start being used too frequently. We all love ScarJo, but not even *I* need 138 of her in one place.
What is canon puncturing, and why is it allowed in this game? Simply put, canon puncturing is having your character find out they're really a fictional character. The reason it is allowed in this game is because of the concept. People that are legends, or myths, or fictional characters in OUR world are real in OTHERS. Deadpool loves Star Wars, so would obviously be thrilled to get to meet a real-life Han Solo. It lends itself to a lot of hilarity, a lot of potential drama (come on, who WOULDN'T have a crisis upon finding out that everyone thinks they're not real?), and more.
Are any characters off-limits? You can play damn near anyone you want in this game. No fandom is off-limits. But, there ARE some characters that are off-limits. Any straight-up villains are off-limits. "Shades of gray" types, like Magneto, Taskmaster, etc are allowed but need to be approved by a majority vote from the mods.
There is also a small list of 616 characters that are off-limits for various reasons. The main GOTG team (Rocket, Star-Lord, Groot, Gamora, Drax) are mod-only characters, due to them being vital to the game. Also, certain mega-powerful characters are off-limits for storyline reasons. Those characters are Reed Richards, Silver Surfer, Stephen Strange, Sentry, Franklin Richards, Gladiator, Uatu, Black Bolt, and Adam Warlock.
Mods also reserve the right to turn down characters at their discretion.
Are there villains in this game? Most definitely. Sometimes, villains from various fandoms will also be pulled through by the Reality Stone. When this happens, your character can choose to take part in storylines involving stopping them or choose to stand aside and do something else. 616 villains will appear as well, typically as outside threats.
There are some NPCs villains walking around the place from various fandoms. Such as vampires, demons, etc. Nothing that can do real damage. These aren't named characters but just general villains. If you have a question about any please reach out to the drop box.
Is there a time limit for introducing characters once they've been accepted? Yes. Once a character has been accepted, they must be introduced via a network post (preferred) or a scene within four days, otherwise, the character will be removed. If unforeseen circumstances prevent this, let the mods know within those four days and we will give you an extension.
Why do I have to play with people outside my fandom? Because if you don't? You're being a DICK. Straight-up. Yes, it's fun to play with people in your fandom. But this isn't high school. Cliques are annoying and frustrating and we will NOT have them here. Play with whoever WANTS to play with you. Trust me, sometimes, multi-fandom scenes turn out to be amazing and TONS of fun.
If you are found to not be interacting outside of your fandom and/or romantic storyline, you will be subject to removal for inactivity.
Anything else? Yes. And I mean this: TAG YOUR SCENES. Anyone not tagging their scenes will be given a few gentle reminders, but if it becomes an ongoing problem, further action may have to be taken.
