Weeks had gone by since the entire Locksley clan had moved out of their home in Sunnydale. A move that had thankfully been made easier due to magic. While Regina had grown quite fond of that house and the work she’d put into making it inviting. Storybrooke - in any incarnation - was home. And so, when the older Henry brought up the possibility of them moving she and Robin began the process. Their new home was almost a mirror copy of the one they’d previously inhabited. Making the transition much easier for everyone. Despite all that the new Storybrooke had to offer, Regina, still found herself taking Roland and Robyn to the park in Freedomtown. These walks always served two purposes. One, they were a way for the three of them to bond. She would technically always be a stepmother to both of them. And while Robin often tried to convince her that it didn’t matter there was a part of that felt it mattered. So, their biweekly walks continued. Two, the fresh evening air always seemed to do the trick in wiping out any excess energy Roland might have. Robyn too since she had begun to be more active. Then there were times that, Regina, would simply go for a walk herself. There were so many happy memories in the park in Freedomtown that it was the perfect place for her to go clear her head. In fact, she had taken one of her solo walks just recently in order to clear her mind and heart of the sadness that her father’s absence had caused. Though he was finally at peace, Regina, still wished that he could be there with them. She wished that he could see how much she had changed since their last goodbye. And she wanted more than anything to introduce him to Robin and the children. And just like magic her wish came true and on Father’s Day no less. With the kids in her husband’s capable hands she immediately set off for the park. The frequency of her visits and the joy in her heart made it quite easy to locate her father. He looked very much the same as he had when she last saw him. “Daddy!” Regina exclaimed and took off running. She didn’t care that it wasn’t befitting a woman of her status. Or that she was wearing heals. Or even the fact that she could have called upon her magic to transport her directly in front of him. At that very moment she was a little girl, who had been waiting impatiently for her father to return home, and all she could think of was running into his arms. Once he was close enough she threw her arms around him and said, “I missed you, Daddy.” |
