Who: Stiles and Scott
Where: Apt
When: This morning
What: Scott has a present for Stiles
Status: Complete
This hadn’t exactly been planned. Scott hadn’t gone out of his way to do this. He’d gone out to get some munchies and soda and stumbled upon them. They were perfect! The only problem he had was how to get one home without Stiles catching him. Fortunately, the woman who had them said she could work with him. They put their heads together and came up with a plan. Now all Scott had to do was be patient and time things just right.
Finally, things fell into place just right. Scott managed to slip out of the apartment long before the sun rose. By the time he had everything he’d need it was almost 7AM, and it was a little later when he got back to the apartment.
The supplies were put in the living room then he crept into Stiles’ room, up to the foot of his bed, then slid his present under the blankets. Then waited.
*
Stiles had no idea that Scott was up to anything. There was no indication of it or Stiles would have been bugging Scott about it. This is why he was still asleep and pretty much dead to the world right now. The world could probably start shaking right now and he’d have no idea.
He sort of heard his bedroom door open, though. He didn’t think too much of it. He figured it was Scott sneaking in because if it were his dad there would have been knocking. Loud knocking and there wasn’t.
He felt a cold nose on his leg and he quickly moved it and muttered, “Your nose is cold.” When he felt the paws, that’s what made him fully wake up and then quickly sit up. Okay, whatever was in his bed, it wasn’t Scott because he can now see that Scott was standing at the foot of his bed with a stupid smile on his face. “What is in my bed!?” He grabbed the blankets and threw them off. The fear of a mutant creature was pushed aside when he saw the tiny, cute, little puppy. “Okay, who did you steal this from?”
*
Scott watched the puppy wriggle through the blankets, and he almost lost it when Stiles accused him of having a cold nose. He smiled as he waved to Stiles then did laugh when Stiles freaked and threw the blankets away. It was just kind of adorable to see the puppy looking up at Stiles in cute curiosity.
“No one,” Scott chuckled out. He went to sit on the edge of the bed with Stiles. “There was a lady who had a box of them down by the grocery store so I thought you’d like one.”
*
“Are you sure?” he asked, eyebrow raised. Not sure if he should believe Scott at first. But when he said where he got the puppy, he looked down at it and then looked up at Scott again, a smile slowly appearing. “We have ourselves a furbaby. You know my dad is going to flip.” But that’s okay. Because who could say no to that little, cute face. He was already reaching out for the puppy and picking it up. “Now I have two puppies,” he jokingly said with a huge grin.
*
“Ha ha ha.” Scott smirked as he made to swipe at Stiles’ bed rumpled hair. He had to admit, however, that the puppy was freaking adorable. “And your dad can blame me if he’s going to have a fit.”
He smiled as he watched the puppy give that cute grumbly whine sound all puppies do and try to reach up enough to give Stiles sloppy kisses. “It’s a boy. What are you going to name him?”
*
Normally he would swat at Scott’s hand, but his hair was already messed up. How much worse could Scott make it? “Oh, you know I’m pointing right to you when I get asked about this.”
The puppy was very wiggly. It definitely had way too much energy. It also seemed to like giving a lot of kisses too. “Dude, you have puppy breath,” he told the pup before looking over at Scott. “Hmmm, I don’t know. Scott Jr,” he said with a snicker. “Okay, seriously, I have no idea. Yet.”
*
Scott grinned watching Stiles with the puppy. Yeah, this had been a great idea. The next few days watching Stiles bond with this thing would be awesome. Scott was pretty confident that all Sheriff Stilinski would have to do to come to their side with this would be to watch Stiles playing on the floor with the puppy.
“You’ll have to figure out what his personality is or something.” He reached over the ruffle the puppy’s ears.
*
Stiles held the dog up in front of his face and started to talk for the puppy. “I am wiggly and love to kiss. What does that say about me?” And just to prove it, he held the Pup closer to Scott so it could lick him. “See.” He finally set the puppy down because he obviously wanted to be put down. “It’ll come to me. Or us. I’m sure out of the two of us we can come up with something.”
*
“Oh! Man!” Scott flinched away from being licked by the puppy, his nose wrinkling. Puppy breath was pure hell for someone with heightened senses. Still, he chuckled as he itched his finger under his nose.
Once the puppy was released it immediately stumble-pounced a pillow that apparently offended him. The little growls were adorable. “Fierce little guy.”
*
Stiles grinned as he watched the puppy. It definitely had a lot of energy. And right now that poor pillow was getting to deal with it. “Yeah.” He watched the puppy for another moment or two before turning his attention to Scott. “Thank you for the puppy.” He leaned over and gave Scott a quick kiss.
*
The look on Stiles’ face, the smiles and now the kiss made all the sneaking around more than worth it. “You’re welcome,” Scott answered with a smile of his own. “There’s a bunch of stuff I got, too. Collar. Leash. Bowls and some toys. They’re in the living room.”
*
“Awesome. Let’s go have a look at it.” He scooped up the puppy, stood up and then headed the for the living room. “Look at all that stuff for you,” he said to the puppy before he took a seat on the couch and grabbed the collar.
*
Scott followed, but he made for the kitchen while Stiles and the puppy went to the living room. “I just got the basics figuring you would want to personalize things. Little Star Wars doggy shirts or something.”
He started loading up the coffee maker to get a pot going for them then went to pull out the cereal and bowls.
*
He was just about to snap the collar on when the puppy decided that he would rather be somewhere else. “No! Come back here!” He had to twist around and grab the puppy once before. This time he didn’t waste time. He got the collar on before the puppy could take off again. “I would never dress him up.” Unless the puppy got cold easily and needed a jacket then okay. Other than that he never understood dressing up a dog.
*
Scott couldn’t help but laugh for the puppy escape. “Maybe you should call him Houdini,” he suggested. When the coffee was done, he brought a cup and a bowl of cereal to Stiles. “Whatever you want to do, dude. He’s yours.”
He sat down on the couch to watch, but he was ready to distract the puppy so Stiles could eat if necessary.
*
Stiles thought about it for a second before saying, “Naaaaaaah.” He let mister wiggles roam around the couch since the puppy did not want to be held right now. “I know. I was just saying. Also, thanks.” He grabbed the bowl of cereal and started to eat, eyes on the puppy.
*
Scott’s chuckle was that typical rumble in his chest he gives when he’s comfortable. “You’re welcome,” he said with a fond smile for Stiles. Then he scooped the puppy up to take him to the floor where he began introducing the puppy to his new toys.
