Sally had been keeping to herself since the first week she was here. It was an eventful time and now she was back to what she as more comfortable and used to, slow paced and silence. It was still bewildering that she was in space, that she had people here she knew and people she found pleasant and intriguing. There were times when Skids missed her real home, her town, Rusty; it was not much but it was her own and she missed it. Being here she still felt the need to hide herself, her past and her abilities. No one here that did not know her in her world knew about her mutantism and even those that knew her did not know about her past and everything that happened. It was not the time to reveal herself, people did not look at her with pity or disgust. It was nice to just be a girl in space with other people.
The boredom had finally taking it's toll on Sally and the petite woman had decided she would try out the gym in her building. It was late so she figured no one would really be out there. Her fingers pulled on the hairs tighter in the ponytail and tucked her bangs behind her ears as she made her way to the workout center. Skids' intuition were correct there was not anyone in there for the moment and the blonde gave a light sigh of relief as she let her guard down. Her blue eyes glanced around the room at all the equipment, wondering where she would start. She stopped her search when she spotted the treadmills. Cardio would be the best start for a warm up.
The mutant girl slowly stepped on the machine and gazed down at the buttons, they seemed a little confusing but she saw a big "Start" button and assumed that was how to operate it. It began moving at a good walking pace and she felt her feet move with ease over the panel. This was very slow, Sally turned the speed up a little and continued her run, breathing in and out as she drifted from the real world and imagined herself running down a long stretch of road, no end in sight, no people; just her, the road and the forest around her.
