Lucas was still trying to get used to what was going on. Did he want to be here? No, not really. He was alone. And yeah, he met some people, but they weren’t his friends. And he still wasn’t sure if he was cursed with that fucking game. It didn’t seem like. So far. But he only guessed it wasn’t around because it wasn’t his turn and nobody else was there with him. Well, there wasn’t anyone else there with him. Olivia had shown up and now he was rushing out of the apartment and heading towards the park. It really didn’t take him long to get there and to see Olivia alone. “You’re really here.” * She was terrified. She wondered if her plan worked? Sure it was a shit thing to do but it was the only way to ensure the game wouldn’t come back to them. Least that was the plan anyways. But now, suddenly she was in space? How was that even possible? Markie wasn’t here, but Lucas was. So when he said he was coming for her, she waited. Arms wrapped around herself for the moment, until she heard Lucas. “Lucas, thank god.” Is all she said as she quickly made her way towards him and took him into a tight embrace. The last thing she remembered about him, he had died. Him and Connor, so she wasn’t sure how he was even here? She didn’t really care for that matter. “What’s going on? Is.. the game..?” She didn’t dare finish her sentence. * Lucas hugged her back just as tightly. One because it was Olivia and two, it was just another way to make sure that she was actually real. She was. She was there and he was no longer alone on this crazy ass planet. A minute or two passed before he finally pulled away, breaking the hug. “I don’t know. I haven’t really been told much. I’m sure you got the same speech that I got from the dog when you woke up.” He probably should have asked more questions at the party, but watching everyone else and drinking was so much easier. “I don’t think so. Then again, it wasn’t my turn before I woke up here.” * She didn’t want to let go when he pulled away, but she did. He was here and alive. Which was great. Until he said that comment. His turn… She exhaled deeply for the moment. Her head shaking slightly. “That talking dog, was… I thought I was going crazy.” She said slightly as she brought her hand through her short hair. “So, it’s just us here? Maybe we’re too far for the game to reach us here.” She said hoping anyways. So far, it seemed safe. But it wasn’t like she was going to test it either by saying those words to anyone here. That would just be stupid. * He knew her well enough to know something was wrong. Or that she knew something. Did he really want to know what she knew? He wasn’t totally sure, which is why he held back his questions for a few more minutes. “I thought I was hallucinating,” he told her. Then again, who wouldn’t? Dogs aren’t supposed to talk. And definitely not with a Russian accent. “Yeah,” he said with a slight nod of his head, “It’s just me and you from home. There are a lot of others that woke up here.” And he only knew that because he had scrolled through the network and saw how many people were talking on it. “We didn’t stop it, did we?” The fact that she suggested that maybe they were too far from it to get them made him think that they failed. Or they weren’t from the same points in time. Yeah, that was some weird shit too that he had seen people talking about on the network. But if they could get pulled here then he guessed he could believe in different timelines, too. * “...Markie and I tried something.. I’m not sure if it worked.” She said brushing her hair from her face for the moment. “On my youtube channel… I announced the game and asked the question… To everyone who followed me, and anyone who would see the video…” She said as she exhaled deeply. “Come on, this park freaks me out.” In truth the whole thing freaked her out right now. That and the uncertainty of the game following or not was still in the air. But for now, least she wasn’t alone. That’s what mattered. * “You put it…what happened? The spell didn’t work?” And now he was pretty sure they were from different points in time because he knew nothing about any of that. They were still walking towards the old mission before he woke up in the park. “Okay, let’s go back to my apartment.” They could talk more there. He turned and started to lead the way out and down the street. * She came to nod her head as she followed him back to his apartment. She had a feeling he was going to ask, and that was a question Olivia wasn’t ready to answer. Not yet. The way to the apartment wasn’t as long as she thought it would be. Once inside, she glanced around and soon moved to take a seat on the couch when he motioned towards it. Once seated she rested her head in her hands for the moment. “Yeah… when it became my turn… I made the video.” * Once they were inside the apartment, he locked the door and sat down on the couch, eyes on Olivia. “And now everyone who watches is cursed. I can’t believe it had to go that far.” It shouldn’t have. They should have been able to stop it. “I died, didn’t I?” he had to ask. The way Olivia looked when he showed up. The way she kept acting all the way until know. He knew more bad things happened and she just wasn’t saying it to him. So, he had to ask. It was the only way that he would know for sure. * She was fidgeting with her hands at this point. Rubbing her fingers together, until she listened to him make the comment about the video. But, when he asked if he died, her legs began to shake slightly. “..Yes…” She said as tears came down her cheeks and her hands came to her face quickly. He shouldn’t have died. She shouldn’t have made that video. They shouldn’t have gone to Mexico in the first place. * Now he knew why Olivia was fidgeting so much and why she looked away more than looked at him. He got up from his spot on the couch and sat down next to her. He put his arm around her and pulled her in close. “What was I supposed to do?” He knew it had to have been a pretty bad dare if he didn’t follow through with it. * She shook her head for the moment. She didn’t want to relieve it. She didn’t even want to think about it. But it was hard, especially when she stared at Lucas. “Kill either me or Markie…” She said as she came to finally look at him. Her hand coming to her face as she cleaned it off for the moment. For now, it was hard to look at him, because the image of his death was still raw in her mind. * Lucas had been afraid of that. Now it made sense why he died. There was no way in hell he would ever take Olivia or Markie’s lives. No matter what. He cared far too much for the both of them. “We don’t have to talk about this anymore.” He got the answers that he wanted and he could see how hard it was for Olivia to talk about it. They could definitely move on to something else now. * When he said they didn’t have to talk about it anymore, she nodded her head. That was a relief because she wasn’t too thrilled about going down memory lane about this. Leaning back into the couch and exhaled deeply as she glanced around his apartment for the moment. “Did they give you this place?” She asked about the dog. -- Lucas moved over a little so that he wasn’t in Olivia’s personal space anymore. There was no reason to be so close to her anymore. They were done talking about the horrid things that had been going on back at home. “Yeah, they did. They didn’t give you one?” He didn’t even wait for her to answer before saying the next thing. “You can stay here with me. There’s an extra bedroom.” * She was about to answer, but then he offered her the spare room he had. In reality, Olivia didn’t want to be alone. Especially not after arriving here. “Thanks, I’d like that.” She said as she watched him shift and move away a bit. It was just them here. She wasn’t sure if Markie or any of the others would show up, but right now she was just glad to not be dealing with this alone. But it also, didn’t mean she wasn’t going to think about it. About her channel and if it would reach them here. She hoped not. Because at that point, there would only be one way to end the game completely. Her head would shake for the moment as she tilted her head back on the couch and stared up at the ceiling. “We’re really in space….” ** “You’re welcome.” He was glad that she took his offer of staying in the extra bedroom. He figured it would be a good idea if they stuck close to one another. At least until the figured out more about this place. And if they were free of the curse. “We’re really in space,” he repeated. “Never thought any of us would ever be saying that.” It was still a pretty crazy thing to say even though he had been there for a little while now. “We should explore this place a bit tomorrow.” * “That sounds like a good idea.” She said about exploring around. If they were stuck here it was best to get an idea of the layout after all. As well as seeing if the curse still followed them. Right now that was Olivia’s biggest concern, as well as if anyone would ever be able to access her youtube channel here. God, she hoped not, because at that point they were all fucked. ** He was trying to get her mind off of the things that had been going on at home, but he was failing. He could see it written all over Olivia’s face. “Hey,” he said as he reached over and lightly poked her. “What are you thinking about?” * When he poked her, she exhaled deeply for the moment. “Sorry… I just… I keep hoping no one here finds that video.” She said as she brought her hands through her hair for the moment, as she leaned back into the couch. “I’ll try not to think about it so much.” She said as she tried to assure him, but even she knew she wouldn’t be able too. ** “Are we even sure it exists here?” It wasn’t like he tried looking for it before since it had just been him there until Olivia showed up. “You’re going to keep thinking about it until you know for sure. So,” he pulled out his phone and scooted closer to Olivia once again and started to search around for any kind of videos that Olivia had made. “I don’t see anything…” * “You know I’m not.” She said. But as she watched him grab his phone, she panicked a bit. “Lucas, don’t.” She said as she watched him inch closer and search anything of hers. To her surprised there was nothing. No video no channel, nothing. Her head tilted to the side for the moment. But she did exhale finally. “Thank god.” ** This was exactly why he didn’t listen to Olivia when she told him not to do it. There was nothing on the net. Now, he hoped, that she would calm down a little. “I get the feeling anything we owned or digitally made stayed back while we were brought here.” He still hoped that it applied to the curse as well. “Do you feel better now?” he asked as he put his phone away. * “A little. Thanks.” She said with a slight nod of her head. A yawn soon escaping her lips as she rubbed at her eyes for the moment. “We better get some rest, if we’re going to explore this place tomorrow.” She said as she glanced over towards her new room before looking towards Lucas. ** “You’re welcome,” he said with a small smile. “Good idea.” He stood up and waited for Olivia to do the same. He walked towards the bedroom and motioned to the one that Olivia would be staying in. “All yours.” * She followed him to the spare room and stood by the door. A nod of her head was given, as she turned to Lucas and gave him a tight hug. She needed to make sure she was going crazy, and she really hoped this wasn’t a sick dream she was having. “Thanks, Lucas.” She said with a nod of her head as she moved into the room for the night. |
