Who: Stiles and Scott
Where: Stiles' bedroom
When: Sunday (6/3)
What: They finally have their talk.
Status: Complete
They were finally going to have their talk! Okay, so they are supposed to have it the other day, but inviting one person over for cake turned into some weird mini party, so talking didn’t happen that day. But today there was no excuse. They were both home. And nothing was really going on. They needed to do this now before things got really weird. Since he told Scott to come to his room, he didn’t need to move. He kept lying on his bed, texting on his phone until Scott finally came in. “Took you long enough. Did you take a wrong turn or something?” he teased as he sat up and set his phone down on the nightstand. * This had all started with him joking with Stiles about flirting with the girls on the net. Scott had said he didn’t mind and it went weird from there. Then that party happened. Ugh. It had been weighing on Scott’s mind ever since. Why did things need to be so complicated?! He showed up in Stiles’ room in just his sweatpants, but had a six pack of Dr. Pepper which he held up as he gave his excuse. “Figured this might last a while so I brought stuff for us to drink.” He was going to let this get to him so he just went to sit on the bed next to Stiles like he usually would. * Stiles’ eyes when right to the soda when Scott held it up. “You’re forgiven then.” He watched as Scott walk in further and then sat down. Was he imagining it or was Scott being weird? This would be the only time that he wished he could sense emotions like a werewolf because then he wouldn’t have to guess! “Give me!” He reached over and snagged a can from the plastic ring that held the six together. “So you figured we needed a sugar rush to talk?” he asked as he cracked open the can and took a swig from it. “If so…we need more.” He set the can down on the nightstand and then pulled a pack of cookies from out of the drawer. “Now we can really get a sugar high.” He grinned and then tossed the pack on the bed between them. * Yes, Scott was being weird. Put him in a fight, point him toward saving people and he was great. Start a meaningful conversation and he floundered. Stiles not being weird helped. Since Scott could pick up on emotions he could tell his friend was pretty calm, actually. It helped center Scott more. Taking a long drink of Dr. Pepper then gnawing into a cookie helped as well. “Ok…” he started as he got more comfortable on the bed. “Should we start with why you said that the other day?” * Ugh, not that again. Stiles rolled his eyes. “I don’t know why I said it. I wish I hadn’t. But I mean it’s not like I was totally wrong. We never put any kind of label on what we’re doing.” Which is probably why they were both acting weird or saying stupid stuff they shouldn’t be saying lately. They really did need to figure out what exactly they were doing, so they could with this weird dance they were doing lately. “Why do you keep acting weird?” He couldn’t help but think of what Lydia said to him. That maybe Scott actually wanted more, so Stiles was chalking it up to that reasoning. Since Scott did kind of suck with all of this. He should know. He had seen him with both Allison and Kira. * “Hey, don’t get testy with me, ok?” Scott frowned. “We’re supposed to be talking this out and that comment you made to me stuck with me.” The ouch factor was right back there. If Scott knew Stiles had talked to anyone other than him about this it would be even more. “And I’m acting weird because I don’t know what the hell is going on.” This called for another drink before he continued. “I mean we’re kinda all over each other. Doesn’t matter where or who’s around and when I tell you I wouldn’t mind if you were flirting with those girls you jumped down my throat. Excuse me if I thought you might actually be worried about how I felt about that.” He now had the urge to pace. Wolves didn’t, or couldn’t, stay still when they were agitated. Scott got up from the bed to walk around a bit. * “I’m not trying to be that way. Sorry,” he apologized with a slight shrug. He wasn’t trying to get into any kind of mood. He just didn’t know why he needed to repeat himself. He really didn’t have any real idea why he spoke the way he had that day. He still wished he hadn’t said what he had said since it seemed to just stick and not go away. Stiles let Scott speak before saying anything. “Okay, did it ever occur to you that maybe the reasoning behind me jumping down your throat after saying that to me was because I didn’t want to hear you say that to me? And I wasn’t flirting with them.” Oh, hm, maybe that really was the reason why he said what he had said to Scott. And Scott was up and pacing. “I think we’ve moved past friends with benefits here.” Which means there were only two directions they could go in now to stop the weirdness. They could stop this thing all together, which, yeah, Stiles didn’t want to do. Or they needed to become officially together. “Two options. We stop or we turn it into something real.” * Scott was of the opinion that nothing just slipped out without a reason behind it. Even if that reason was so deep down that it was practically subliminal. That was what worried Scott, and what had hurt. He wanted...no, needed to know if Stiles really felt that way. “No,” Scott confirmed with bafflement in his tone. “It really did seem like you might have been flirting, so I thought I’d be honest with you.” He stopped pacing to turn back to look at Stiles, but he had his arms crossed. Stiles knew him long enough now to know when he was feeling insecure and defensive. “I don’t want to stop,” he said quietly. * “It was all just for fun.” Stiles could see how Scott would think that he was flirting with Fe. He didn’t really see what made Scott think he was flirting with Alex. Mostly he had been learning that she was a ghost and all of her other little perks. “Sorry it got to you.” Hearing Scott say that he didn’t want it to stop made Stiles smile a little. Good. Because he didn’t want it to stop either. “Well, I don’t want it to stop either. Just in case you didn’t know that.” The way Scott was standing there still made him think there was something else to this. “Okay, spill it. What else is bothering you about all of this?” * Scott took in a deep breath then let it out. It brought a smile along with it. He was pretty sure Stiles felt the same way he did, but there was always doubt when the heart was involved. “Well, good.” He let his arms unfold as he walked back to the bed to sit down again. “Nothing, really?” He shrugged a shoulder. “I just don’t want us stumbling all over each other’s feelings, y’know?” He was back to being a little insecure, but he wasn’t moving away from Stiles this time. “I mean, what happens if one of us finds a girl we want to take out?” That lopsided smirk of his appeared. “I’m pretty sure neither of us have given up on boobs.” * Stiles watched as Scott took a seat on the bed again. Okay, well, at least he wasn’t trying to stay away from him anymore. “Are you sure? Because if there is something it needs to come out right now or the weirdness will just keep popping back up.” And the whole point of this was to get rid of it and figure out everything. He rolled his eyes and then playfully pushed Scott. “Dude! Seriously. You are fucking confusing. On one hand, it seems like you want more. But on the other, it seems like you’re fine with doing stuff with me until some magical girl you want to be with comes around. Which one is it?” * “Oh my god, Stiles!” He grimaced as he batted Stiles’ hand away. “I never said that at all!” He pointedly refused to get up from the bed. He would not walk away. “This is why we need to actually talk instead of getting snippy with each other.” He took a deep breath again, and when he let it out he extended a hand toward Stiles. “Yes, I want more with you, but I’m willing to share you with a girl if that happens. Operative word, Share. But if that’s a ridiculous idea, I’m more than okay with being exclusive.” He shook his head. “Stop thinking the worst of me, okay?” * “Well, yeah, when you keep saying dumb stuff like that, of course we’re going to keep getting snippy with each other.” That much was already known. He shook his head. “I don’t want to share. Sharing never even crossed my mind.” So, why was it crossing Scott’s mind? “It is a ridiculous idea. Why would you want to share anyone you’re with? Unless you’re in some kind of threesome. And I’m not trying to think the worst of you, but look at it from my point of view. What if I were saying all of these things to you. How would you feel? I bet you would be confused and snippy as well.” * There just didn’t seem to be anything in this conversation Scott could say that wasn’t wrong somehow, or managed to hurt Stiles. He was getting flustered and anxious which showed in how he kept shifting in place on the bed. “I’m sorry, okay?!” He really wanted to get up and pace, but held fast. “Fine. We’ll be exclusive. That’s perfectly fine with me, but you need to tell me outright what you want, because obviously I can’t read your mind. Leave it to me and I’ll just screw it up.” Fuck! How can he be a decent Alpha yet always stepping into it with Stiles? * Why did this have to be so complicated? It really didn’t need to be complicated. Did it? Stiles didn’t think so. “I want you, dumbass. I don’t want anyone else.” Just because he talked to and hung out with a bunch of girls since arriving in this place didn’t mean he wanted to date any of them. They were friends. That was it. “Yeah, you’re right. Can’t leave anything with you. This is why I’m the one that comes up with most of the stuff.” Yes, he was teasing. He wasn’t saying it to be mean. He just wanted to lighten the mood before he got worse. He pushed the cookies away and then scooted closer to Scott. “You know what all of this means, right?” he grinned up at Scott. “It means you are my booooyfriend.” * It was true. Scott came up with crap plans and ideas. Stiles was definitely the brains of the two of them. All Scott could do was look a bit sheepish and shrug. Stiles’ declaration didn’t fail to touch Scott, and he finally got a warm smile on his face. The tension went out of his shoulders, and he visibly relaxed. That smile on his face changed to a reluctant grin after Stiles got closer and dropped that bomb. “Shut up.” * That worked! Stiles kind of knew that it would kill the tension that was there. “No way,” he said with a slight shake of his head. “Never shutting up, dear booooyfriend of mine.” He reached over and gave Scott’s side a poke and then a little tickle. * “Oh my god!” Scott laughed more for the jibing than the tickling. The latter just made him wrap and arm across Stiles’ chest to force him to his back on the bed. Scott could have pinned him, but felt more like flopping down next to Stiles. He did “force” a kiss on him to shut him up. He smirked when he broke the kiss. “Showed you.” * Stiles kept on alternating between poking and tickling until Scott finally decided to do something about it. It wasn’t a big something. But getting pushed onto his back and getting kissed stop him from the poking/tickle attack for a few seconds. “Oh yes. You showed me. I’ll never do it again.” He tried not to smile, but he just ended up laughing and poking Scott again. “Soooooo, do we need to talk about anything else?” * That poking hand was becoming annoying, but not necessarily in a bad way. Scott still grabbed it and nipped at Stiles’ fingers before he wormed to get more comfortable. “No,” he answered then pulled Stiles in for another, more lingering kiss. “We’re good.” |
