Rory gingerly accepted her coffee with thanks and took a moment to appreciate the warmth and scent (something else that her mother had instilled in her), before really taking a moment to look at Sam. She felt that she still had a long way to go when it came to studying other people... and yet she was sure that he needed this kind of interaction almost as much as she did. Sure, what he'd said on the network helped in that assessment, but that wasn't all that it was.
She was probably over-thinking it. Was she over-thinking it?
She pursed her lips together thoughtfully. She had a lot of questions. The usual being 'what was your world like?' and 'how long have you been here?' but what came out of her mouth instead was: "How are you, Sam?" Better to be in the present than worry about the past.
