WHO alvis and open
WHERE freedomtown park
WHEN early afternoon
RATING tba
WARNING cutting

It had been almost a week since Alvis had appeared on another planet. Even with beings like the Hullen it had taken him a bit by surprise. He kept himself from showing that there was there on the planet's popular communications network. Just until he felt that he had a feel for the place. Not really wanting to get caught by himself if this was some kind of Hullen trick. It didn't seem like their style but he figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

He was back in the park that he showed up at the week before. He wasn't exactly hard to point out as he still wore his scarback robes. He found the park to be oddly peaceful and he wouldn't say no to some peace about now. He saw in the grass under a tree, folding his legs to be in a meditating stance. Alvis was often unapologetically true to his faith. That, and he didn't see anyone close enough to see what he was doing. With the small blade that fits on top of his finger, he pressed lightly against the skin of his forearm. It made an inch long, thin cut before he lifted and proceeded to do it again.

In this unfamiliar place his meditation was more than just practicing his faith. It was a connection that spans across space to the place and the people he had been taken away from. He continued with the small cuts even as he heard someone approaching the area he was in. He had no intention of stopping and didn't think whoever was nearby would notice him.

It had been a long while since Shiklah decided to leave the confinements of her room. There was no use holding up when there and being lazy. Deciding that some air, no matter how it was created, was worth it. Plus Bug, her dragon pet, was in need of some exercise. It was then she entered the park , following Bug's lead on this.

She would had continued by but it was the smell of blood that caught her attention. Her eyes scanned and found a man sitting at the foot of a tree and was occupied in what Shilkah could only guess as a ritual of some kind. How long has it been since she had seen something like this? And here she thought humans had abandoned such ways.

Strolling over, the succubus leaned against the same tree. "It is not often I come across a practice that participates in self-inflictions. I am curious to know, to whom you are appeasing? If at all." Looking over down at him from her advantage point.

Alvis didn't think his presence would be noticed by anyone. He thought the spot that he picked was far enough from regular pedestrian traffic. He knew that didn't give him many assurances that he would remain to be alone.

He found that the solitude didn't last that long. The person that he thought would talk away had approached the tree that he was sitting under. He wasn't sure how accepted his faith would be on this new planet. He expected certain comments to come from the other person but none of that came out. Instead it was questions about his faith. It was intriging to say the least.

He stopped what he was doing, opening his eyes and looking up at the woman who leaned against the tree. "It's not like that. It's not to appease any kind of higher power," he answered. "Our pain is your redemption." It had been a while since he actually said the mantra of his faith. Still it was only half of it.

Shiklah raised an eyebrow at his words. Now that was very interesting. "Oh? Sounds like you would be one of the higher powers." She leaned forward a bit, "If that were the case." Her eyes traveled to the red lines on his forearm. She only paused for a half of beat, "If my presence is interfering, I will leave. But the smell of blood was what attracted me." Then Shiklah smiled, "And do not worry, I am not interested in tasting blood. I was merely curious." Meanwhile Bug had landed nearby and was sniffing the man slightly with caution. "It seems I am not the only curious one."

Alvis smiled at her remark of him being one of the higher powers. If she knew him at all she would know that wasn't true. He was far from it. "No, it doesn't matter when I stop. I was just trying to feel a little like I'm home," he didn't plan on stopping his faith because he was in a new place. He was sure that many different faiths were practiced in a place like this. There should be little concern with what he chose to practice.

"The smell of blood?" he asked curiously. His gaze moving to the strange creature that seemed to be trying to figure him out.

Shiklah nodded. She understood that much. Getting a taste of home, of the original reality that they were from. "We shouldn't ever forget where we come from." Shiklah muttered before chuckling to herself. "Yes. I have a keen sense of smell. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Shiklah, Queen of Undead. And no, I am not a vampire. It is more of a title. My subjects tend to be more on the monster side." She watched Bug get closer to the man a bit.

"My appetite isn't human flesh. But I am rather fond of tacos." A smirk crossed her lips, "It seems my pet is curious of you."

Alvis wasn't sure what others would think of his faith. He was glad that the one person to approach didn't mind it. That didn't mean he continued while he was talking. The small blade that fit on the tip of his finger was put into his belt. "I think many people here would like to get a taste of home," he just went about it a different way. "Alvis Akari," he started to stand up off the ground. "It's nice to meet you, Queen Shiklah." At least this wasn't the first time he saw mention of monsters.

"He isn't going to try to eat me, is he?" he said with a laugh in his voice.

Shiklah laughed at the mention of Bug eating him. "No. He is far too tiny." She knelt down, "Bug, you might be making our new friend here, Alvis, uncomfortable with your sniffing around." The green dragon-like creature looked up at Shiklah before he crawled over the man's legs and over to where she was standing. "Really he is harmless. He had been my only friend for centuries. But if you are curious, he has a taste for things called chicken nuggets. The human world has spoiled him."

Her attention turned back to Alvis, "May I ask where you are from?" It wasn't uncommon for people not to be of this place.

Alvis couldn't help but flash a smile at her comment of being uncomfortable. There wasn't much that made him uncomfortable. He was just joking with the owner of the small creature. "I don't know. I think a pinky or toe might be small enough," he leaned against the tree. "Of course I'm kidding." He didn't have any fear for the dragon. He hadn't been given any reason to have any.. yet at least.

"I don't know what chicken nuggets are," maybe it was something known to human from other places. "I'm from Westerley. I don't think it's known here."

Shiklah smiled back at Alvis as Bug crawled up her leg to get to its normal perch on shoulder. "You may see him wondering here or there during your stay in one of these cities. If you do, do not hesitate to give him a pet." Tilting her head to the side and then shook her head, "I do not recall Westerley on the modern day map I had received back in my own time. It could be that we are from different universes. The Reality Gem is an interesting and powerful thing and it seems to have no limit to where it pulls people from." She paused and went back to the chicken nugget bit. "From what I could tell chicken nuggets are new to the modern ara. If you are interested, I could show you the ways of the modern era - I will attempt to recall all that I learned when I first got a taste of it."
