Who: Kate and Jack When: Backdated to Monday night Where: A coffee house in downtown Freedomtown Rating: TBD Status: Ongoing and closed
Kate brushed her long locks a hundred times. The felon then brushed her teeth and reapplied her bubble-gum pink lipstick. Looking in the mirror she was pleased with the result. She was stunning but didn't realize it. She was excited to be going out and with a military man.
She couldn't help but think of her father and what he must have looked like in dress blues. All she had was a wartime photograph. She also thought of Wayne and his abuse and what she did. Who would want her knowing what she did? But that was her secret.
Shaking her long mane to eradicate the ghosts that were lingering there, also there waiting in the shadows. But not tonight.
Suddenly, it hit her that this was, in fact, a date. A coffee date, but a date none-the-less. She ran back to the mirror to check one more time. It didn't matter how many times she checked the result would still be the same. Shrugging her shoulders she thought he'd either like her or he wouldn't. He had to like her a little or he wouldn't have asked her to coffee, but he hadn't seen what she looked like. 'Oh well,' she thought as she hurried out the door to meet Jack. It wasn't lost on her that his name was Jack, just like the love of her life.
