Having spent the afternoon at work, Aves was beat. She was more than happy to grab some of the leftovers and take them home with her instead of letting them go to waste. When she got home to find her door unlocked, she was instantly on guard, shadows gathering around her as she prepared to defend herself if it was needed. At the same time, she kept them as discrete as she could, not wanting to seem paranoid if it turned out to be something silly, like if Noah had decided to surprise her.
Finally, she threw the door open. Finding Sam rifling through her things, she laughed in relief. "Sam, what are you doing?" she asked light-heartedly. Whatever he was up to, she was sure he had a good reason. The guilty look on his face was priceless, too. For now, she walked past him to the kitchen, putting away the food she'd brought home.
