Lorne still wasn't overly fond of being stuck in this place, but her certainly had dealt with worse. Besides this place wasn't so bad, and at least he already knew once person here. Having Faith around had made things a lot easier, and it seemed he was already making another friend. This young woman he had met seemed like the kind of person he could get along with. Of course he wasn't delusional. He knew he would have to get to know her better before truly letting her in, but the only way to do that was to dive right in. He was actually looking forward to it. He had chosen one of his nicer suits and made sure to double check himself in the mirror. In his mind he thought he looked pretty damn good, but he knew humans might look at him in a different light. He just hoped that she would be the understanding type. He had met people who didn't mind his appearance before; it was just hard to tell what type a person would be by only talking to them. So, every time he met someone in person for the first time it was an adventure for him.

They had made arrangements to meet at the Bar, so that was where he headed. He had three roses in his hand for her. He wanted to do something nice for her and he knew that some ladies did like flowers. He just hoped that she did. Once he found the bar he instantly made his way inside and straight over to the bar. He ordered himself a Cosmo....of course the most fruity drink he could think of. Once the drink was brought to him he took one sip of it and then turned to face the room. He was watching the people come in and out, waiting for one of them to be her.

She felt a little badly for pushing off their meeting, but after everything that had happened the day before she and Lorne were originally supposed to meet, she had just needed to be with her brand new fiance. Even thinking those words made her feel a little giddy. Luckily, they'd been able to reschedule, and Aves managed to find a nice pair of jeans and a light blue blouse to wear. Walking into a bar wasn't generally the most comfortable thing for her, but she was still floating on a cloud as she stepped inside.

Lorne wasn't too hard to find, mostly because he'd mentioned people tended to stare, and there was only one green guy at the bar. She gave him a smile as she walked up. "You must be Lorne!" she said. "Do you shake hands?" She'd met too many touch-wary people not to ask before offering her hand.

"I do, indeed" he answered, as he extended his hand towards her. He also used his other hand to life the flowers off the bar behind him.

"Also these are for you" he added, with that charming smile of his. "For being so kind" he continued as an explanation for the flowers. "It's rare that I meet people that are.....understanding or even willing to give me a chance".

"It's so nice to finally meet you in person".

Happily shaking his hand, Avery's eyes widened a bit at the sight of the flowers. "They're beautiful!" she said. "Thank you so much!"

Her expression melted a bit as he went on, her heart going out to him. "I get what it's like to not fit in," she said. "I mean, I might not be sporting such a lovely shade of green, which actually really suits you, but without the husher someone just helped me get, my eyes might scare you a bit." Since arriving in Knowhere and meeting so many accepting people, she'd become less and less worried and sensitive about having to shade her eyes, but it was nice to not need to do it all the time anymore.

"It's really nice to finally meet you, too. I'm sorry I had to reschedule on you."

"Oh that's alright. Life happens, I suppose....even here" he answered with a small simple smile. It was nice to be able to just talk with someone that wasn't afraid of him....or looked down on him.

"It's never easy being different, but it always does seem to be worth it" he added. He knew he wouldn't give up his powers for anything in the world. He actually enjoyed being who he was most of the time; he would just like it all people could be a little more accepting.

"You know, I have to agree," Aves said, sitting on the stool beside him and ordering a soda. "As much trouble as it's caused me, I love playing with shadows, and they really come in handy in a scrape." She took a sip of her soda, then looked over at him again, her head tipping curiously to one side. "So, you mentioned something about being able to read auras when people sing?"
