She nodded, resisting the urge to curl up against him for a moment. There was more that needed to be said before she gave in and pushed her past back into the past again. "I know you've seen them all," she said. "If you ever want to know, I'll tell you, but it wasn't all bad. Sometimes Connor would take me off somewhere and we'd play. He was always telling jokes, and they were all so stupid, but they made me laugh." She found his free hand and pulled it into her lap, holding it in both of hers while she looked at him.
