A Little Bit of Happy Who: Peter and Jean Where: Gamiel Lobby, then out for a walk! When: Monday, December 15th (After these messages) What: Jean and Peter spending time together Rating: Fairly low - there's some smoochies, though Status: Log, Complete
After exchanging a few messages with Jean on the network, Peter sprayed some deodorant over his clothes, then made his way downstairs to the Gamiel lobby dressed in blue jeans and a white polo shirt. Figuring that he'd give her some time he decided to screw about, doing some acrobatics to pass the time on the furniture that was down there.
After changing into some snug jeans that complimented her figure nicely, and a cute green and red Christmas sweater, Jean finally made her way to the lobby for her date(?) with Peter. She wasn't sure how or when it had happened, but the two had definitely established a close bond of friendship, with a clear two-way attraction evident. Raising an eyebrow when she saw him, she couldn't help but giggle as she cleared her throat. "Wow... I must say, when you get bored you don't mess around...."
Landing on his feet he turned to face her and gave her a guilty little grin. "I never really could sit still," he admitted. He walked on over to her. "I like your sweater."
Hmm. Clearly there was far more to this boy than she initially suspected. She wouldn't push though.... there was no need. When he trusted her enough to tell her what or who he was? He would. "Thanks.... it's probably weird to be even thinking of Christmas right now.... especially up here.... but little things like this keep me from getting too stressed out."
Peter nodded and offered her the crook of his elbow. "I honestly forgot what time of year it was," he admitted. Still, little things like that reminded him of home, and he was glad for that.
"Well, hopefully you're not a total humbug, because I *might* have gotten you a little gift. Nothing major, just something to make you smile since you can't be with the people you love this year." Oh god, she was really the sweetest thing, wasn't she?
Peter blinked in surprise. "You did? Well, now I feel like a complete A-hole, since I didn't get you anything in return," he admitted with a blush.
"Oh god, Pete!" She giggled, playfully thwapping him on the shoulder. "You're stuck in a giant space station in a world you don't even live in! I really don't think shopping is very do-able right now for you. I at least had the option of having something sent up here. Besides, it's literally something little and silly."
"Hey, if I'd thought about it? There's nothing that I wouldn't do to give you something," he admitted. He really did like this girl. "Little and silly, huh?"
She nodded, blushing. "Yeah..." She said, digging into the little purse she carried with her, to hand him a thin, rectangular box, just a bit thicker than the size a necktie would be in. "Merry Christmas, Peter. I'm really glad I met you." She'd been devastated when Jill, the first real friend she'd made here, was suddenly poofed back to whatever world she was from, and meeting Peter had really helped her get over that.
Peter opened up the box and smiled at the contents, quick to put on the beanie and the scarf before collecting her up in his arms and hugging her. "I'm gonna wear these ALL the time," he 'warned' her.
"I'm so glad you like it!" Jean said, just pleased as punch that he liked her gift. "It's not much... but I figured maybe between the fact that this place tries to mimic the actual earth's weather and temperature, AND having a few winter-y things to wear, maybe it'd feel... I dunno... a little more like Christmas to you. I have no idea what's going on in your life, and it's NOT my place to ask.... I just noticed that you looked sad lately. I thought maybe some holiday cheer would help."
"I just miss home sometimes, that's all," he replied, brushing off her concern quickly. He really didn't want to go into it. "Still, I'm serious. I'm not taking these off until the rancid smell of B.O. becomes an issue," he joked.
"Yeah... missing home can be hard..." Jean said with a slightly dark look in her eyes as she gazed downward. "Things were so simple and kind of... innocent to a degree in my time. Here... I'm surrounded by the shadow of things I technically haven't even DONE yet."
Whereas Peter was haunted by the things that he had done, the things responsibility had forced him to do. He reached over to give her hand a squeeze. "Don't focus on the things that you can't change. You'll go mad. Focus on the things that you CAN change. Okay?"
"That's... what I'm trying to do. Some days it's easy, some days it's hard." Jean told him, having to literally FORCE herself not to swoon when he took her hand. Still, she managed to find SOME humor in the situation. "I mean, do you have any idea how awkward it is to arrive in the future and know that you've already been married to and separated from someone you haven't even been on a date with yet? OH! And to make it even more fun.... the version of me from this time? DEAD. Yay!"
"Well, YOU'RE still here. And personally, I'm glad for that. I don't know if I wouldda handled being here half so well if you weren't here. And that's the god's honest truth."
"If it helps.... I feel the same way." Jean admitted to him with a deep blush on her pale cheeks. "I volunteered for this because I wanted to get away from everything down there..." She said, meaning earth, obviously. "I didn't expect to come here and find someone so special. Both as a friend and..... maybe more."
"Awr. You're gonna make me blush," Peter replied playfully. Still, he sobered up enough to give her hand a squeeze. "I guess we're both lucky there then."
"Peter?" Jean asked, nibbling cutely on her bottom lip as she looked up at him. "Would... you be upset if I kissed you? Because I'm kinda thinking about it here." She asked, even as the mun cackled evilly about his newest character's arrival.
"No," he shook his head vehemently, "I wouldn't be upset about it at all," he promised. He'd privately thought about it for a while now, but didn't want to push. They'd both agreed that friendship should come first, after all.
Standing on her tiptoes, Jean gave him an adorable little grin before gently pressing her lips to his, eyes fluttering closed as a tiny, happy moan escaped her. She'd tried to avoid being the one to make the first move, since he seemed to want to take things slowly, but she couldn't help herself here. And now? She was glad she made the decision she had.
Peter smiled into the kiss and wrapped his arms around her tiny waist, pulling her closely, surprisingly strongly, to him as he drew the kiss out. Once they broke the kiss for air, he spun her around and grinned at her.
"Wow...." Jean said with a breathy laugh, blushing lightly. "That was really.... REALLY nice." To anyone who knew her, it'd be hard to believe this sweet, fun-loving, young girl would ever grow into the powerful, serious-minded woman she had in this time. She found that while he'd gripped her in a rather strong fashion... she liked it. REALLY liked it, actually. "Any chance you'd wanna do that again?" She asked with a happy laugh.
"You're kidding?" Peter laughed, setting her back on her feet and giving her a chance to get her bearings before kissing her, putting some passion behind it this time. Oofh. He liked this girl.
She let herself go a little this time, putting some heat of her own behind the kiss this time, her tongue nervously seeking his out as her palms lay softly on either side of his face. She didn't WANT to fall for someone she knew could be easily poofed away from her at any time... but she wasn't seeming to have much choice here. She liked this boy a LOT.
