A smiled of approval on his face, Sam took the handgun back from Aves and congratulated her on doing well with her training that day. She still had a long ways to go, particularly with weapons. But she was doing well for a beginner. And he appreciated her willingness to learn.
And if he was honest, he just appreciated her company in general. Despite their less than ideal meeting here in Knowhere, Aves had quickly become one of Sam's favorite people to spend time with. Her optimism and sunny personality were a balm on his battered soul. And despite himself, he'd already begun growing attached to her in a little sister sort of way.
Which meant that he didn't mind in the least when she asked to stay after and play with the shadows in the bunker. "Hm? Oh, of course not. You can stay as long as you'd like." He finished putting the gun away and gave her another smile. "You mind if I watch?" Sam had spent most of his life in darkness and shadows, and her abilities fascinated him now that he understood them better. "I'm just going to grab a drink. You want anything?"
