With a smile, Aves carefully put down the gun she'd been learning to shoot before turning to Sam. "That was fun!" she said. She hadn't hit the target perfectly, and a lot of the bullets hadn't even hit the paper at the beginning, but the later shots were at least close to the center. "This was a great idea."
She took a few steps away so he could take care of the gun properly. She actually felt pretty good in the bunker. There was no natural lighting to contend with, just the artificial stuff that could be turned off rather easily, or else the lights themselves could be domed. She didn't even have to wear little contact lens style shadows in her eyes. It was great to have them bare for once. Plus, the shadows in the bunker felt good. Sure, there was a lot sitting under the surface, and not all the stories were good, she was sure, but she felt really good with so many shadows so easily at her disposal. There was a room they'd passed that looked like there was a lot of open space, too.
"Hey, Sam? Would it be okay if I maybe stick around and play with the shadows for a bit? It's been a while since I've been able to actually let loose with them, and it might be nice to push the limits a bit." She didn't consider the invasion as letting loose. She'd been trying to survive, and keep people safe, and protect the place where she lived. Now though? Now she wanted to play. She wanted to see how much she could do before she couldn't do anything more. She wanted to play until her head hurt and the light was unbearable. But she wanted to make sure Sam was cool with it before she did it. He'd seen her figurines the first time they'd met, but she'd only briefly told him about her force fields.
