WHO Bea & Cleo WHERE Bea's apartment WHAT Talks of the relationship variety. WHEN Backdated to before the Thanos attacks. STATUS Completed.
"Say no more, mon amour. I'll bring my loving right to your front door." It was Rex Manning Day, after all. So Cleo couldn't help but sing a few bars of the song to herself as she made her way from her place to Bea's. It helped keep her nervousness as bay. She was always pretty straight-forward, but it had been easier to be honest with Bea from behind a computer screen. Now that she was headed toward a face to face convo, the nerves were a little more prominent.
She was dressed casually in a pair of jeans and a midriff showing top. She had a black zip hoodie on for warmth and a pair of black boots. She belatedly realized that maybe she should have taken a few extra minutes to make more of an effort to look nice. She glanced down at herself and then shrugged. Oh well. Too late now.
She got to the door of Bea's apartment and leaned against the frame as she knocked. "Bea? It's Cleo."
Just to be a teasing bitch, Bea purposely changed before Cleo could get there, and put on a slinky black dress that highlighted her chest perfectly (it WAS her favorite feature of herself, after all). Adding some sexy red lipstick just to give her look an extra kick, she gave herself a satisfied grin in the mirror before opening the door, purring audibly when she saw the other girl. "Well, there's my Hot Chocolate..."
Cleo closed her eyes and laughed. "I should have fucking known." Bea Wilson would make it a point to tease her during all of this. With a shake of her head, Cleo's eyes opened again and she leaned in to kiss the blonde.
Bea just grabbed a generous handful of Cleo's hair and yanked her in for a deeper, almost rough kiss. "Goddamn right you shoulda known. So c'mon in." Bea said, smacking the other girl's ass as she walked by. "Have a seat, and talk to me. I don't want you to think I'm not interested. I just have.... worries. And I don't want to hurt you, cos you're fucking awesome."
Cleo wasted no time in returning the kiss with just as much fervor. Bea was unarguably gorgeous and Cleo found it difficult to think straight with her mouth was involved. She could feel her pulse racing faster than normal as Bea pulled away and gestured her inside the apartment. God damn.
She made a beeline for the couch, shrugging off her hoodie on the way to sit down. "Tell me about these worries of yours."
"I've only 'dated' one person in my life." Bea said, playfully shoving Cleo onto the sofa, then plopping herself down so that she was laying with her head on the girl's lap. "And that was the guy I ended up engaged to. Still not sure how he put up with my obnoxious ass." She laughed, letting a moment of melancholy pass as she briefly thought of him. "Anyway... I'm guessing you know what a succubus is. Well, I'm half-succubus. And considering the other half of me comes from a guy known for being the horniest dude that's ever been a superhero..... let's say monogamy isn't something I'm used to or something I'm good at. And I like you. A lot, actually. But I'm so afraid of breaking your heart."
Cleo allowed herself to be pushed backward onto the couch and landed gracefully. She immediately began to run her fingers through Bea's long hair while she listened. "The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive," Cleo answered after a moment of thought. "I mean, you're saying that you're afraid you'd hurt me by not being able to be manogamous, right?"
"Yeah. I mean, who wants a girl who's constantly trying to fuck other people?" Bea asked, knowing damn well how she was. "You deserve better than that. And while I can try... I can't promise I won't break and do it."
Cleo was silent for a long moment. She mulled things over in her mind and tried to weigh her feelings on the matter. "What did you do with your fiance back home?" She finally asked.
"We.... had an agreement." Bea said, keeping her tone even, since she tended to easily fall apart still when discussing him. "I could be with other women as long as there was no emotional attachment. And he was the only guy I was allowed to be with." And then, to break the tension, she had to add: "And considering the guy had a goddamn fire hose between his legs, that wasn't really a problem."
Her fingers still running themselves idly through Bea's hair, Cleo considered everything. She smiled briefly at the firehouse comment. Clearly it was Bea trying to provide some levity. She'd done casual relationships before, and she'd done serious relationships before. This was new, though. "I'm not opposed to the idea of something like that in the future. Just so you know. But why don't we just see where things go for now? We can spend time together and with other people. No, big. And if maybe later on down the line we decide we want to try something more, then we can talk again."
"I just don't want to lose you. You're... Fuck, I'm no good at verbalizing this shit... You're the first good thing that's happened to me since my man died." She winced, as if punched in the gut, when she said that. She typically skirted around admitting he was dead. Dead. And it was her fault. "You see me as more than just a good lay. Nobody has looked at me like that since him. And I want what you want. I just don't want to end up hurting you."
Cleo felt her muscles tighten slightly at that revelation. No wonder Bea had skirted around the topic of her fiancee so much. It was more than just a painful breakup, as she had originally assumed. "I mean, I'm not saying that I'm going into this looking to get hurt, but I'm okay risking it. She leaned forward enough so that her face was in Bea's field of vision. "I think you'd be worth it."
"If it helps... I can't always control my urges.... but this?" Bea said, putting her hand over her heart. "When I give this to someone? It's real. My heart, I mean. Not my tits. Pretty much anyone's good to go with those."
Cleo felt a rush of affection for the woman next to her. Which only served to further her desire to form some kind of relationship that was more than what they had now. "I don't doubt that," she smiled. "In either case."
"So let's say this for now." Bea said, taking a deep breath. "Yes. I'm very interested. So let's just... see how things fall into place, you know? We can try dating. All while I just... keep on being myself. And we'll see if you really think you handle having the entire Bea Wilson package 100% of the time."
Cleo leaned down and kissed Bea where she lay. "Yes," she answered, placing another light kiss on the tip of the blonde's nose. "Let's try it."
"You're full of surprises, Hot Chocolate. I like it." Bea grinned, purring a little at the kiss, and squirming a little in her lap. "And goddamn, if that smile doesn't just make me all tingly in tunatown..."
