Aves considered the question. "I've never really thought about it before. Maybe? I guess I'd have to test it out." She knew that she'd always felt like the shadows were friendly to her, and they cooperated with her once she got the hang of her abilities, but she'd never had a shadow beyond the range of at least one of her senses, so she'd never tested out how aware they were. She was fairly certain they didn't have a mind of their own, though, not really. But the idea that they might be able to hear sparked the idea of using them to extend her own senses.
Smiling, she watched the baby reach for Noah's coke. He'd been so attractive before, but the addition of the baby put him off the charts. She was so distracted by him, that Liz's question seemed to come out of nowhere. She looked back over at the woman. "Okay," she said warily. She didn't know what to expect, which always made her a little uncomfortable. She wasn't sure how Noah had slipped by all of that, but he had. And now he'd kissed her and was playing with a baby on her couch after arranging to take care of her injuries. Yes, he was definitely a distraction, even as Aves worked to pay attention to his aunt.
