Her hand scraped against the edge of the window, but it didn't register once she hit the ground. For a second, her head buzzed and she lost her abilities. The irony wasn't lost on Aves as she laid on the ground blinking up at him with normal eyes. Yeah, the window had been too close to him. She probably should have gone for the kitchen, or the bedroom. Too late now. Come on, shadows, she thought. She'd never had them blink out on her before. Then again, she usually managed to catch her head. She waited, motionless, until he was close enough that she could sweep out his legs. In an instant, she tossed his gun aside and sat on his chest, pinning his arms the best she could. She might not have been muscle-bound, but she could be scrappy when she needed to be. "You'll have to kill me before I let you turn me in!" she said. She could barely feel her shadows. It was going to take a minute before she could use them again.
