She smiled at him and shifted to be sideways on the couch again, one foot curled under herself, and the other knee bent. "I agree," she said. "The world could use more cheerful." Had she known everything Noah was thinking, she probably would have blushed and had to look away. As it stood, she just smiled at him, hoping he'd stick around for a good long while.
She almost laughed at the thought that Noah might be like the hulk, but then tipped her head, remembering something she'd once heard. She couldn't prove it, but she said it anyway. "I once heard that Banner had to stay angry all the time in order to control the transformation." She looked at Noah, trying to gauge his reaction, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. "If that is the case, I don't think he ever really bothered to deal with his trigger. He just found a loophole and called it quits."
It was evident how much he loved his family every time he talked about them, and when the picture came out, Aves gushed a little. "Awwwww!" she said. "He's precious!" She took a moment to enjoy the picture before it occurred to her that this was the second picture he'd shown her, but she hadn't shown him any pics of her family. Handing back the picture, she pulled her phone out of her purse (it was kept so organized that she never had to dig for anything), and flicked through the screens until she found a picture someone had taken for them. It was her Connor, Aunt Daisy, and Aves all stood with their arms around each other, the woods acting as a backdrop, all of them smiling brightly at the joke Connor had just told. She passed the phone to Noah. "That's Aunt Daisy and Connor almost a year ago," she said. None of them had changed much, and she didn't feel the need to say the obvious fact that she was also in the picture.
