Removing her shoes and tucking them under the coffee table, she settled into the couch sideways to face him more directly. It was a really comfortable couch. "There are so many questions there," Aves breathed after hearing his overview. She considered him for a moment and saw the waiting-to-see-if-this-is-going-badly look in his eye. "The first is about whatever has you looking at me like that." She hated that she was still squinting when she said that. It seemed aggressive to her. "You should know I'm not the judgy type, and I'm not the type that scares easy." She hoped it came across the way she meant it, but who knew what cultural differences they faced. "Whatever it is," she said with a casual shrug, "tell it like you'd rip off a bandaid. It's easier that way."
