Every time that Dawn thought her life couldn't get any weirder, it seemed like the gods above came together and found a way to prove her wrong. She really had no idea what to make of the fact that she was currently stuck on a space station in another reality. She found it a little easier to accept than most, mainly because she at least understood that other realities existed, but she hadn't been aware that they had worlds just like hers, except they were so different they might as well be alien. Demons and vampires, she could handle, but apparently superheros and aliens were just a little too freaky.
Currently, she was sitting in her own room, studying the pamphlet that she had been given. At least she was in a place that they expected visitors, or whatever was going on around here that made them so prepared when she wandered around and asked questions. Minor reliefs were still awesome.
"Ms. Summers? Are you beink decent? Cosmo is wantink to have word with you, da?" Heh. Oddly, while she could hear the words, spoken in a thick Russian accent, she could hear it in her head rather than her ears. Yes, our adorable Head of Security was talking (as he always did) telepathically, standing outside the door to Dawn's room in his usual little four legged cosmonaut uniform, wagging his tail as he waited for a reply.
Once again, less than totally weird for Dawn. It was more the fact that he was a Russian talking dog rather than he was talking in her head. Willow had done that a ton, after all. "Sure, come on in," she said to him. Really, she had to resist the urge to baby talk and pet him. He probably dealt with that ALL the time.
Heh. He'd likely love it. Telepathic and highly intelligent, yes... but at heart Cosmo was still a dog. Wagging his tail happily, he padded into the room, tongue lolling out a little a he looked at her with cheerful eyes. "Cosmo is glad to see you are handlink this well, dear. Cosmo has researched you, and can be happily tellink you that a couple of people you know well are beink here as well!"
"People I know are here?" Dawn asked, immediately brightening up a little. That was certainly something good! "And yeah, hard to not handle anything weird when you live my life. We handle the weird very well."
"Da! Your sister is here, and you're sharink an apartment here with a lovely young lady named Faith." Lady? Likely the first time anyone called get THAT... "So hopefully your stay with us beink pleasant enough..."
Dawn had to giggle when Cosmo called Faith a lady. At least she had gotten over some of her issues with the other Slayer. "I'll make sure to try and contact them right away." She really was relieved that her sister was here.
"Is there anythink Cosmo can be gettink you, dear? This place can be overwhelmink for some... but I shall try to be helpink as much as I can, da?" He asked, sitting down as an adorable little whimper escaped him. It really was easy to forget he was a dog until he did something like that.
Dawn smiled, reaching over and lightly stroking Cosmo's head. She was quite grateful that he had come to see her. "You already told me that my sister is here, which really helps me a lot," she said to him.
Awwwww, he actually gave a happy little pant when she pet him. Despite everything, he was an affectionate thing. His tail wagged excitedly as he nuzzled her hand. "Cosmo likes you, dear... if ever need anythink? Just be askink. No matter what or when."
Dawn smiled, nodding. "If I come up with something, you'll be the first to know." Even if her sister wasn't here with her, Cosmo would make this place not half bad.
