"You know..." Laura began with a cheeky grin as she and Carmilla walked into their home, far more dressed up than either of them tended to be. Laura wore a simple but gorgeous long dark blue dress that flattered her figure without being too revealing. "I could get used to seeing you in sexy dresses, Carm."
She was feeling even more flirty and romantic than usual right now, having just watched Queen Bea and Emily Fitch be married. It was an unusual ceremony and reception, but one so full of love that she couldn't help getting caught up in it.
"She's kinda insane, but I finally see why you're friends with the Queen. She's... got a lot more love in her than she lets on."
"She's a good person... underneath all the crazy," Carmilla agreed as she followed Laura into their home. She closed the door gently behind her, just... taking a quiet moment to appreciate how Laura looked in that dress. Carmilla, true to her vampire roots, had worn a sleek black dress to the wedding. Night and day, aren't we? But they'd always been like that. "Would you like to keep the evening going?" While the evening had put her in more of a nostalgic mood, she was more than happy to keep the romance going for Laura's sake.
"Mmm. In so many ways, yes." Laura replied, in somewhat of the same mindframe. "I want to chat. I want to reminisce. I want to make love. I want to laugh about Deadpool giving his daughter away in his mask, and wearing Pokemon slippers." She laughed, briefly looking the vampire over, and sighing happily. Would what they just witnessed be them one day? She certainly hoped so.
"The slippers were a nice touch." Carmilla chuckled. She imagined that a lot of couples left the reception that evening wondering about their futures. Time--No, she wouldn't think about time. Instead, she gave Laura a small smile. "Why don't you pick the music and I'll uncork a bottle of wine," she suggested.
Nodding, Laura shuffled over to the stereo, giggling as loud rap blared out. "Oooooops. That was from housecleaning earlier..." She blushed, enjoying hip-hop as she danced around doing chores. Finally, she grinned as she settled on Tegan & Sara, nodding as she made her way over to the couch. "There we go. Very chill, and suitably gay."
"Tremendous," Carmilla replied dryly. While she'd lost the taste for most food and drink, it didn't mean that Carmilla couldn't partake. She preferred red wines because the taste tended to be stronger, but settled for a sweet white wine for Laura's sake. She uncorked it, poured them both a glass and left the bottle to chill in the kitchen before joining Laura on the couch. She leaned over to nuzzle Laura briefly, then carefully handed her a glass.
"Hmm." Laura sighed happily, returning the nuzzle as she gratefully took her glass. "Think that'll be us one day? Not the 'queens' part... the 'you making an honest woman out of me' part." She asked, of course in her patented 'Rambly-Laura' fashion.
Carmilla toed out of her heels and curled her legs underneath her. "I would have thought that was a foregone conclusion at this point," she murmured. She frowned thoughtfully. "Was it wrong to assume?"
"No, not at all. I've wanted that since we got back together, truthfully." Laura said, before scrunching her face cutely. "The... most recent time, I mean. Not the first time. Or the second time? Wait, was there two times or three times? Ack. Still, you know what I mean."
Carm hummed in agreement. She looked away briefly. It had been on her mind for a while, but since Laura broached the subject... "I guess that begs the question, and there are no wrong answers here, but: is your 'forever' the same as my 'forever'?"
"Well of course." Laura laughed, playfully booping the vampire on the nose. "Things have a way of... coming together for us. We found the fountain of youth back home, right? We'll find a way here. I mean, do I want to be a vampire? Let's be honest, I'd be the worst vampire in history. Like, even worse than Leslie Neilson in that one Mel Brooks movie. But still, if worst came to worst? I'd do it if that's what it took."
"You'd make an adorable vampire," Carmilla said dryly, smirking at the thought. She reached over and lightly toyed with Laura's hair, curling it behind her ear. "We could... ask around for alternatives," she promised. "Knowing this place there might be a Philosopher's Stone laying around somewhere."
"....Sweet Dumbledore... you're right!" Laura blurted out, eyes wide. "And more importantly... my girl made a Harry Potter reference!" Ah, yes. Because that was the important takeaway here, sweetheart. "I'm totally corrupting you!"
Carmilla chuckled. "You live with someone long enough you tend to pick up a few things," she pointed out. "I think... when the time's right to formally ask, I will," she promised.
