JJ's first birthday is looming close, with only nine days left. I'm at a loss as to what to do for the first birthday party. I'm thinking of a party with our closest friends. No clowns or things he can't enjoy. What do you guys think?

Why don't we go out for Valentines' Day? Just the two of us. Seems like we never get enough alone time. I'd love to go out to dinner.

You will have a 1-year-old and I will have newborns soon. One more month.

Maybe keep the birthday simple. Not everything has to be a theme. You can make it fun and perfect just by having your loved ones with you.

Something small, JJ is not going to remember it anyway. I don't feel right getting clowns or ponies like some people do for first birthdays. There is nothing wrong with that, it's just not for me.

I was thinking of doing one of those princess packages. Someone dresses up as a disney princess and sings a bunch. HQ won't remember it but I'll have some cute pictures.
