UNIVERSAL IDOL SEASON 2: Finals, Ep2
The finale began with a black screen, the voice of Benjamin Bale beginning to narrate.
"What began with thirteen hopefuls, has whittled down to, perhaps, the only outcome that was ever possible.
Two best friends.
One dream.
One winner."
Clips were shown then, of both Queen Barb and Olive Penderghast, from their auditions, to their first round performances, to their performance on duets week, to the blistering performances both gave in the finals.
The show itself began then, more of a celebration than a structured episode.
Several of the contestants performed one more time, some as duets with artists already signed to Full Moon Entertainment.

After the final performance was over, Ben smiled as both Barb and Olive joined him onstage, standing side by side."Ladies and gentlemen... it's time to announce the winner of Season 2 of Universal Idol! We had a record number of votes called in, as well as a final result that was so close we did three immediate recounts just to be sure we had the right result."
Moving to stand behind them, letting the camera zoom in on the girls' faces, Ben continued.
"That said... I'd like to introduce to you - The Season 2 winner of Universal Idol..."
"QUEEN BARB!"
Barb's face lit up immediately her eyes going wide. She'd done it. She'd really done it.But the part of her that was human now, that understood the value of true friendship, cared more about Olive first. She turned, pulling her best friend into a tight, loving hug, whispering in her ear. "I'm so sorry, dude... I really am..."
With the result, Olive cried out in joy. It was finally over. She wasn't fully listening to Ben as she announced that the other girl had won. She hugged her queen tightly in return and tilted her head. "What? You won?" she blinked, still not fully registering what was going on.
"I did... but are you ok? That matters more to me than anything..." And she meant it, too. She couldn't be happy until she knew that Olive was ok. She had a feeling she was, as Olive had basically told her over and over that she didn't care if she won. But she also wondered if part of that was a shield she'd made for herself.
Olive took a deep breath, nodding as tears began falling down her cheeks. "I guess that's it for me, then."
"Excuse me, girls?" Rachelle interrupted, clearing her throat as she stood from the judges' desk, walking up to the stage. "Sorry to break up this Lifetime moment here... but I gotta say something. Like Ben said, the voting was ri-goddamn-diculously close. So close in fact, that Ben was willing to listen to my crazy ass when I had an idea."
She pulled Barb in for a quick hug. "Congrats, babe. You earned this, and we're proud as hell to have you on the Full Moon roster." She let her go then, turning to Olive. "But you. You're the one I'm here to talk to. See... while Barb may be the winner of the competition, you kicked ALL kinds of ass, and got the votes to prove it. And recently, I worked out a deal with Ben to begin my own branch of Full Moon, called PsychoSis Records. And Olive... I want to officially sign you as my first talent. Three record deal, 100% creative control. If you wanna haul your ass into the studio and do 18 versions of The Wheels On The Goddamn Bus, go for it. What do you say... shall we make both finalists winners today?"
Olive blinked a few times, thinking it over. "So just me, or..." she motioned to Victor who was waiting backstage.
Rachelle chuckled, leaning in to give the girl a small hug. This was too precious. "This is for your band. And if Long Dong Silver down there is part of that band? Then yes, he's signed too."
Olive nodded eagerly. "Yes, I'll do it, and he definitely comes with me!"
"Then there we have it, folks!" Ben announced, looking genuinely happy, both for himself (having acquired new talent) and for both girls getting to realize their dreams. "We have a winner, and two contract signings! Perfect way to wrap up this season of Universal Idol!"
