Re: PERFORMANCE: Neveah Dean-Ramirez
The video ended, cutting to a live shot of Neveah sitting at an ivory grand piano, wearing a white tuxedo, a smile on her face as she began to play a tune that sounded... odd yet familiar.
"Dead I am the one, exterminating son Slipping through the trees, strangling the breeze Dead I am the sky, watching angels cry While they slowly turn, conquering the worm"
Oh good lord. She was covering Rob Zombie. Her voice carried the tune to a much more laid back, yet somehow eerier place than the original.
"Dig through the ditches And burn through the witches I slam in the back of my Dragula!
Dig through the ditches And burn through the witches I slam in the back of my Dragula!"
If anyone had thought hearing this perky, normally sunny young woman sing Danzig a few weeks ago was strange... this one? Was pushing the weird-ometer right off the charts. It was beautiful, yet creepy.
"Dead I am the pool, spreading from the fool Weak and what you need, nowhere as you bleed Dead I am the rat, feast upon the cat Tender is the fur, dying as you purr
Dig through the ditches And burn through the witches I slam in the back of my Dragula!"
Her fingers danced across the keys, her eyes darting through the audience, as though looking for someone in particular. She was a little distracted the last week or two... but for once it was for good reasons.
"Dig through the ditches And burn through the witches I slam in the back of my Dragula!
Do it baby, do it baby Do it baby, do it baby Burn like an animal
Dead I am the life, dig into the skin Knuckle crack the bone, twenty one to win Dead I am the dog, hound of hell you cry Devil on your back, I can never die"
She lolled her head back as she sang, sneering as she hit a few of the higher notes, fingers not missing a single note on the keys.
"Dig through the ditches And burn through the witches I slam in the back of my Dragula!
Dig through the ditches And burn through the witches I slam in the back of my Dragula!
Do it baby, do it baby Do it baby, do it baby Burn like an animal"
As the song ended, she played out the last few notes, before playfully hopping off of the stool she sat on, standing atop the piano as she gave a grateful bow to the audience.
