Re: PERFORMANCE - ALEX MANES GUERIN
"My man." Rachelle laughed, clapping happily. "At this point, everyone knows I'm pulling for you. I don't like playing favorites, but I just see something in you that makes me excited to be a producer now. This is exactly how I felt first time I heard Enid perform the way she wanted to. You're a piece of clay I feel like I could sculpt into something so fucking special people will FLOCK to you."
She took a few sips of her drink, pointing at him.
"And in that spirit, while I thought you were awesome tonight, I'm gonna focus on helping you get even better. Me sitting here blowing smoke up your ass might help your ego, but it's not gonna help your art. So here's how I would help you. Passion. I want you to come out here next week, and instead of the people in the audience? I want you to see the faces of everyone who ever doubted you. Of everyone who ever put you down or made you cry. I want you to use that voice to exorcise every one of the demons you just sang about."
She looked at him, the respect in her eyes showing that this all came from a place of true admiration.
"Every week so far, you showed us you could sing. Next week? I want to see that you can be a goddamn warrior."
