Performance: Spencer Quill
Spencer had done exactly what she had set out to do. She could have gone out the week before, just another little pop singer that would blend into the background. That wasn't for her, though. That wasn't the Quill way. This week, she walked out onto the stage in a vintage halter dress and her hair up in pin curls to go with the style she would be singing her song in this week. The same vintage style microphone was waiting for her at center stage because it would honestly be a sin to sing like this in a modern microphone.
"You know I never I never seen you look so good You never act the way you should Oh But I like it, I like it," a huge smile came across her face as she saw some confused looks, as members of the audience attempted to figure out which song she was signing. "And I know that you like it too The way that I want you I gotta have you Oh yes, I do," she raised an eyebrow with a playful smirk.
I never I never ever stay out late You know that I can hardly wait Just to see you And I know you cannot wait Wait to see me too I gotta touch you
"'Cause baby we'll be At the drive-in In the old man's Ford Behind the bushes 'Til I'm screaming for more Down the basement Lock the cellar door And baby Talk dirty to me" that was when she saw a bunch of lightbulbs clicking on. A small giggle escaped her lips before she continued.
"You know I never Never stay out late I can hardly wait Just to see you, just to see you And I know I know that you Can't wait to see me to I gotta touch you Yes I do," she rubbed her legs, swaying her hips a little more, knowing she'd earn a groan from her father and grandfather.
"'Cause baby we'll be At the drive-in In the old man's Ford Behind the bushes," she began belting out the words a little more powerfully, attempting for a big finish. "'Til I'm screaming for more Down the basement Lock the cellar door And baby Talk dirty to me" she held her arms up in the air, genuinely feeling each word and note.
"You know I call you I call you on the telephone I'm only hoping that you're home So I can hear you When you say those words to me And whisper so softly I gotta hear you Oh yes, I do" she took the microphone out of the stand, strolling toward the judges' table to close out the song.
"'Cause baby we'll be At the drive-in In the old man's Ford Behind the bushes 'Til I'm screaming for more Down the basement Lock the cellar door And baby And baby And baby Talk dirty to me"
C.C. pick up that guitar and talk to me 'Cause baby we'll be At the drive-ins In the old man's Ford Behind them bushes 'Til I'm screaming for more, more, more Down the basement And lock the cellar door And baby Talk dirty to me, yeah And baby Talk dirty to me, yeah, yeah And baby Talk dirty to me That's the way I like it, baby Ooh yeah
She knew that it wasn't nearly as epic as her first performance, but she nailed it and it just helped to further cement her position within the competition. She thanked everyone, barely audible over all of the applause, and found her way back to the microphone stand, next to Ben, to hear what the judges thought of this one.
