PERFORMANCE: ALLY
Ally had spent the time leading up to the show practicing her song in her room, deciding against a lot of choreography since it wouldn't fit with the lyrics of her song. There was just something in it that spoke to her from the first time she'd heard it and she and Carried had worked hard to come up with the perfect outfit to go with it. Not necessarily the sexy angle they'd first talked about but still showing off her figure. Highlighting her pale skin and blonde hair.
She stepped onto the stage when they called her name, waving at the audience as she stepped up to the microphone. She looked out into the seats where her friend Carrie was and gave her a small smile and half wave. At the very least there was one friendly face out there for her. She hadn't really been expecting to make the cut when she'd first auditioned for the show, wanting something to do on Galador that would keep her busy. Plus the talent show in Auradon had always been so much fun. Only this time she was prepared to sing by herself.
The music started up as the lights went down and she closed her eyes as she started to sing as the cue hit in the track.
I'm wide awake I'm wide awake
(I'm wide awake) Yeah, I was in the dark I was falling hard With an open heart (I'm wide awake) How did I read the stars so wrong?
(I'm wide awake) And now it's clear to me That everything you see Ain't always what it seems (I'm wide awake) Yeah, I was dreaming for so long
She opened her eyes as she lost herself in the song, voice growing more confident as she hit the first chorus.
I wish I knew then What I know now Wouldn't dive in Wouldn't bow down Gravity hurts You made it so sweet 'Til I woke up on— On the concrete
Falling from cloud nine Crashing from the high I'm letting go tonight Yeah, I'm falling from cloud nine
(I'm wide awake) Not losing any sleep I picked up every piece And landed on my feet (I'm wide awake) Need nothing to complete myself, no
(I'm wide awake) Yeah, I am born again Out of the lion's den I don't have to pretend (And it's too late) The story's over now, the end
She pulled the microphone from it's stand as she walked towards the edge of the stage, feeling the lyrics more deeply than in her rehearsals as she kept singing.
I wish I knew then What I know now Wouldn't dive in Wouldn't bow down Gravity hurts You made it so sweet 'Til I woke up on— On the concrete
Falling from cloud nine (It was out of the blue) I'm crashing from the high I'm letting go tonight (Yeah, I'm letting you go) I'm falling from cloud nine
(I'm wide awake) Thunder rumbling Castles crumbling (I'm wide awake) I am trying to hold on
(I'm wide awake) God knows that I tried Seeing the bright side (I'm wide awake) I'm not blind anymore
I'm wide awake I'm wide awake
She looked back over the audience as she hit the last bridge.
Yeah, I'm falling from cloud nine (It was out of the blue) Crashing from the high You know I'm letting go tonight (Yeah, I'm letting you go) I'm falling from cloud nine
Her voice lowered again as she reached the end, nerves leaving her as she saw the audience looking back at her and smiling.
She lowered the microphone as the music ended, grinning as the applause started and waving to the crowd again before taking a bow and returning the microphone to it's stand as she walked off stage. She let herself have a little jump once she was out of the audience's sight, proud of herself for getting through it.
