"I totally understand that." He hadn't been surprised when she initially hadn't wanted to take any time off. If he was upset, he threw himself into work, too. Letting her take a little bit of time to herself was probably good for her, though. A lot of people in Galador were a mess right now and, currently, Faith was actually doing alright compared to some. (He was terrified that Rocket was never going to be the same, honestly.) Faith had a lot of strength to her, though. This was awful, but he had no doubt that she'd eventually pull through.
"I'll have the same, actually," he said to the waitress, who nodded and took off to fill their order. Once she was gone, he leaned forward on the table a little, getting a little closer. "I know it hurts like hell right now, but you're going to be OK. You're a strong woman, Faith. It sucks that you have to go through this, that everyone is going through this right now. I wish I at least knew why something like this happened." The gem took people before. It wasn't uncommon. However, in these last couple of months, it had taken a large chunk of the population all at once. That was concerning and he was trying to look into why.
"Not that I think an explanation would really make anyone feel better. People are still gone." He hated feeling helpless like this. He was a problem solver by nature. Even if he could figure out what in the hell was wrong with the gem, he doubted anything he could do would bring the people gone back.
