Theresa was never really one for romance, but there was something about Alex that made her want to try. She had spent her entire life looking for something and she was starting to think that maybe she had found it. Sure, it was unconventional, and if the gem were to bring her father here, it could end in a blink of an eye, but at this moment, this was exactly what she wanted.
"Then don't let it be," she leaned in, pressing her lips to his. "Just so long as you aren't using me as a cheap substitute," she whispered before kissing him again. She could tell that there was something between them, but if he couldn't get past things, she was more than willing to work through it. At least, so long as it didn't become obvious that he wasn't into her for her.
