Theresa took the picture and examined it. She had plenty of friends couple up over the years, but it never really happened for her. So she knew exactly what she was looking at. She really had no idea growing up, but it wasn't like her mother knew her father for very long. The moment Alex had actually mentioned relationships and sex, the wheels started to turn in her head. "You still love him," she mumbled, barely audible. It wasn't a question. She already knew. Why else would all of this be so hard for him.
She took another drink, nearly finishing the bottle, before putting it down and moving close to Alex. She never really actually knew whether or not her father actually loved her mother. It's not like she could ask him. She had Bolivar Trask to thank for that. At least, that was the story she had been told. She had watched the tape of the day that Magneto and Raven went up against the government many times. She was just happy that they were able to stop the Sentinal program from happening. It didn't sound like it was going to be a good time for anyone.
"And yet... you still want me," she wasn't about to add the obvious "despite the fact that I'm his daughter" to that sentence. It was much better to leave it the way that she did. "Which... I seem to be OK with."
