She didn't cry. There was that at least. But there was a slight stinging in her eyes as she buried her face against his neck. She wanted to tell him she was sorry. And she was...but she wasn't. There hadn't been another way. It had to be her, and Tobias never would have let her if he'd known. She loved him for that. Not just for himself, but for loving her so much in spite of how deeply broken she was.
