He did notice that she looked in better condition than the last time he saw her, which made him feel relieved. She was healing from what Project Shepard did to her. That didn't help erase his guilt, though; guilt for her getting captured, guilt for leaving her there. She told him to and he listened to her but he felt like he could have done more, should have done more. He should have kept her safe.
'That doesn't matter here' he told himself as he stared down at her adoringly. They could be together here and he would keep her safe this time. He wasn't going to let her get hurt again. Not now, not ever.
