Re: The Astronaut
For his final performance, the Astronaut wanted to show that he could really sing. Last performance, he had tried something different and enjoyed it, but this time, he wanted to put more of his emotions on display. This time, he had the singers simply wearing red and gold outfits, all but admitting who he really was underneath the mask, but, one way or another, he'd be unmasked tonight, so why not go all out?
All I'm looking for Is a little bit more rope To wrap around my throat
I'm in trouble I'm in trouble
And all I'm gasping for Is one last breath of hope To heal the hearts I broke
I'm in trouble I'm in trouble
When you lay my body down When you throw me in the ground Don't be sorry When you lay my body down When you throw me in the ground
Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me Turn your heart To the trail Of souls behind me Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me
He started the first part of the song fairly quiet, slowly building up. As he went into the second verse, though, he put more emotion into it, his voice getting a slightly growly tone to it. He was staying at his microphone tonight instead of moving about the stage, wanting to let his voice and the song he picked speak for itself.
All the fearful eyes Stay burned upon my mind The gift they left behind
All my troubles All my troubles
Still they find the words Ring louder than my thoughts Lay heavy as a curse
I'm in trouble I'm in trouble
When you lay my body down When you throw me in the ground Don't be sorry When you lay my body down When I'm buried in the ground
Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me Turn your heart To the trail Of souls behind me Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me
The final part of the song was when he got the most emotional and powerful, taking the microphone from the stand, leaning into it a bit as he sang. His free hand balled into a fist unconsciously as he sang, getting more wrapped up in the song than even he intended.
These are my confessions I'm singing out my dying words These are my confessions Make peace before I hit the dirt These are my confessions Hear all my sins laid down in verse These are my confessions Oh, these are my confessions
Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me Turn your heart To the trail Of souls behind me Save your prayers Don't shed a tear, don't shed a tear for me
