Group D Round Two
The house was dark as midnight. On four of the giant masks you can barely distinguish Miss Monster, The Wolf, The Bear and The Robot's outlines. The beginnings of a song could be heard, the guitar playing the introduction.
Then one voice could be heard, singing The Late Goodbye by Poets of the Fall
In our headlights, staring, bleak, beer cans, deer's eyes
On the asphalt underneath, our crushed plans and my lies
Lonely street signs, power lines, they keep on flashing, flashing by (flashing)
As Lonely street signs, Miss Monsters picture on her large mask lightened, on power lines The Bear's picture did the same as Miss Monster's. On the words flashing, the Wolf could be seen, on the next flashing the fourth and final mask, the Robot could be seen. In unison the all stepped forward from the masks to encircle Faith, singing the chorus together.
And we keep driving into the night
It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye
And we keep driving into the night
It's a late goodbye
The four Masks sang the chorus by themselves
Your breath hot upon my cheek, and we crossed, that line
You made me strong when I was feeling weak, and we crossed, that one time
Screaming stop signs, staring wild eyes, keep on flashing, flashing by (flashing)
They all sang the chorus as the Masks lined up across the stage.
And we keep driving into the night
It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye
And we keep driving into the night
It's a late goodbye
Then Faith sang the last line as she wove her way through through the Masks until she is in the center of the stage.
The devil grins from ear to ear when he sees the hand he's dealt us
Points at your flaming… all the lights went out and there was silence until the crowd started cheering for their favorite masks.
Together they all sang 'Who Are You,'while the spot light moved from one Mask too another.
"Thank you Galador and welcome to this week's version of The Masked Singer. How are you doing tonight?" The crowd went crazy stomping, clapping and singing. The electricity in the room was off the charts.
"I'm Faith Lehane, Chairperson of this event." Looking out into the audience, she saw Dawn and Finn, she waved at them. The spotlight went to shine on them. Faith tugged her ear for Jenny and Giles.
"Tonight you will be voting for the unmasking of two Masks. Remember all of our money goes to the Group Home. As of tonight, we've raised $15,000 and change. That's great so far. Those of you with corporate business we challenge you to pledge $1,000.00 each."
"Now for our hostess, what can I tell you about Bea Wilson that you don't already know? She has a wonderful heart. Come on out, Bea."
