The Astronaut
The song started very softly and low key. Three back-up singers wearing silver 'space suits' started their lines, oohing into the microphone. The Astronaut was behind his own microphone, swaying with the music as he sang.
Oh, a storm is threat'ning My very life today If I don't get some shelter Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away
War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away
As he moved into the next verse, his voice got a little growly, becoming a little more animated as he sang, as if he was building up to something big.
Ooh, see the fire is sweepin' Our very street today Burns like a red coal carpet Mad bull lost its way
War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shout away War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away
Yeah!
It's just a shot away!
With that shouted 'yeah,' the band launched into a guitar solo, and the Astronaut moved away from the microphone, taking the microphone with him as he strutted up to the audience, even doing a few pattened 'Mick Jagger' moves with ease as he did. He actually let out a laugh that was caught on the microphone when more than a few audience members cheered and hooted at the dance moves. He high fived a few people that were reaching up toward him, doing a few more dance moves before moving back closer to the singers so that he could start singing again.
The floods is threat'ning My very life today Gimme, gimme shelter Or I'm gonna fade away
War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away It's just a shot away
War, child, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away It's just a shot away
I tell you love, sister, it's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away Kiss away, kiss away
