Scout was surprised to see a baby hanging off the woman. Why would she dream of a baby she didn’t know? What was this dream trying to tell her? This was so weird. But the woman was friendly enough, although now Scout was very confused. She ran a hand through her long hair. So she wasn’t dreaming? Her parents were probably freaking out. What would happen when Axel called her later and couldn’t reach her? He would freak out. She groaned and looked back at new big building behind them. Her eyes widened. This woman looked friendly enough but still should she go off with a stranger into a building she didn’t recognize? But then again where else could she go? She had no idea where she even was.
She blew out a breath and cocked her head sideways, curiously. “This is another planet? A gem brought me here?” She repeated. “Is that what that blinding light was?” She asked.
Then getting her manners back she said, “I’m Scout.” She didn’t add her surname yet, because she was still wary of this stranger; even if she did look friendly enough. And the baby was adorable at that. Still she was cautious.
She did coo at the baby, though. “He’s adorable, ma’am.” She added, making a funny face at him, and finally smiling herself. The baby seemed to relax her a little.
“So what’s in that building? Is it an orphanage? Are they going to send me home?” She asked glancing back at the building again.
She smiled again at the baby, but didn’t touch him. She knew better then to touch someone else’s baby.
