The Taco
On stage, Taco stands in front of a mic as the music begins to play. For five seconds, he plays the air drums looking like he's having the time of his life. When it comes time to sing, he grabbed the mic stand with both hands and went at it, his body moving at the 'can't stop, won't stop moving' part.
I stay out too late Got nothing in my brain That's what people say, yeah That's what people say, yeah I go on to many dates But I can't make them stay At least that's what people say, yeah That's what people say, yeah But I keep cruising Can't stop, won't stop moving It's like I got this music In my mine Saying, "It's gonna be alright"
He took the mic off the stand and began moving around the stage as he began singing the chorus, shimmying his shoulders with each 'shake it off' to really emphasize the meaning behind the phrase.
'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake I shake it off, I shake it off Heart-breakers gonna break, break, break, break, break And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake I shake it off, I shake it off
He made his way back to the mic at the end and again gripped the stand for the next verse. He made a point to move his feet in a quick motion for the 'lightning on my feet' part, his body moving like he's dancing at the 'dancing on my own' and 'can't stop grooving' parts.
I never miss a beat I'm lightning on my feet And that's what they don't see, no That's what they don't see, no I'm dancing on my own (dancing on my own) I make the moves up as I go (moves up as I go) And that's what they don't know, no That's what they don't know, no But I keep cruising Can't stop, won't stop grooving It's like I got this music In my mind Saying, "It's gonna be alright."
Pulling the mic off again, he repeated what he did with the last verse and moved around the stage, shimmying at each 'shake it off'.
Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake I shake it off, I shake it off Heart-breakers gonna break, break, break, break, break And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake I shake it off, I shake it off Shake it off, I shake it off, I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off I, I, I shake it off, I shake it off
He chose to skip the talking section of the song because masking his voice mid-song would be too difficult and he went right to riffing "yeah yeah" part of the song. He remained away from the mic stand for the last chorus then when it came to the end of the song, where he repeated "shake it off" over and over, he moved back to the mic stand. Putting the mic back on it, he played the air guitar for the last twenty-seconds of the song as he sang. When the song ended, he froze in the position he was in with his air guitar still in place.
