"Thank you, dearest. I... needed that." Angela gave a soft smile as she sat on the bed she'd just finished sharing with Cosima, armor still scattered along the floor. She had a faraway look in her eyes, that typical steely gaze firmly in place as she stared up at the ceiling, absently stroking her lover's hair as she did. Her nude form looked almost like a piece of art, she was so statuesque in her pose.
Cosima smiled in return and curled onto her side beside Angela on the bed, purring softly at the petting even as she watched Angela, making a study of her. She still had so much to learn about the redhaired beauty. "Is there something on your mind?" She asked, voice a little croaky. She reached over to caress Angela's stomach, unable to stop from touching her even for a moment.
"Just.... worries, I suppose. Worries and questions of my own relevence." Angela was, let's be honest, not always the most sparkling conversationalist. She smiled, not wanting to burden her lover with the odd thoughts that went through her head. "This is the first time I've ever spent so much time around mortals... and I suppose sometimes it puts thoughts in my head that normaly... would not be there."
"And what exactly is going through your head?" Cosima asked, concerned. Angela could be hard to read a lot of the time, but Cosima didn't want her to think even for a moment that her feelings weren't Cosima's concern. They were. A lot.
"I worry." Angela started, seemingly about to give another of her one or two word answers, before something remarkable happened: she opened up. And started to talk. A LOT.
"I worry that the gem will take you from me. That life itself will take you from me. I worry that, like Jane Shepard, you will find one who your heart desires me than I. And... admittedly, I wonder what was wrong with me, that a moral could so easily cast an Asgardian goddess aside. And what there is to stop you from doing the same."
Cosima's eyebrows raised there. "That's.... a lot to be worried about," she replied, sitting up on the bed and crossing her legs underneath her. This was something that Angela had clearly been mulling over for quite some time. "I can't guarantee that the gem won't send me home." She started honestly, trying to be the scientist there. She took a few seconds, in part to catch her breath from their earlier activities, but mostly to give Angela the honest answer that she deserved. And also trying not to cry. There was that. "And I'm mortal... so one day that's going to be an issue. But not today or any time soon. I'm healthy. Have been since the day I got here." Thank you, Castiel. Wherever you are, she thought.
"What stops me from casting you aside is that I love you; deeply, powerfully... and Shepard. I can't make excuses for her... but I know that there's nothing wrong with you, personally, Angela. You're so strong and so beautiful and you've never hid anything from me. I see you... I see you and I am in awe. I'm not her... but I love you so, so much sometimes it feels like I can't even contain all the love for you in here, you know?" She placed a hand over her chest.
"I... am GLAD you aren't her." She began, turning to gaze into Cosima's eyes. "You are both beautiful women... But you? You are breathtaking inside and out. You have a beautiful face, a beautiful body, and a beautiful soul. And you love me so fully, so entirely... I would decimate entire worlds just to keep you by my side."
Cosima honestly thought of Angela's possessiveness before as romantic, but she was starting to understand the deeper reasons as well and it broke her heart. She took hold of Angela's hand between two of her own. She sniffled. "How about instead of destroying worlds we move in together? Then we're... well, the whole by each other's side thing would go a lot easier."
"You... wish to live with me?" Angela asked, adorably stunned by that. That was such a major display of love for humans, and she was aware of that. "Cosima, I would be honored to share a living quarters with you." Angela gave a sincere smile, moving so that she now straddled the other woman's hips, her eyes locked on her lover's. "I am devoted and loyal to you entirely. There is no being in this or any other universe that could ever tempt me while I am yours."
It was nice that... for as long as Angela had lived, Cosima had found a way to stun her. When Angela moved, so did she, stretching her legs out to accommodate Angela, setting her hands on her hips. "I'm devoted and loyal to you as well. I promise you that no past lover will come between us. I promise you." Yes, she still loved Delphine... but she'd decided quite a while ago now that nothing that she could control would ever make her leave this woman.
"If you would find it appealing.... I would take you to Asgard soon. To introduce you to my family." While she seemingly did her best to make it sound dignified and procedural, her meaning was blatantly obvious: Angela wanted to take Cosima home to meet the parents! "Besides... one with your beauty belongs among the gods."
"I would love to meet your family," Cosima replied, a big grin spreading across her face. She'd have offered the same to Angela if it were possible.... then again, Sarah might have some interesting and unkind things to say... and god only knew about Allison or Helena. "You just tell me when, okay?" She added, cupping Angela's cheek.
"Versions of my brothers are here right now, actually." Angela said with a lopsided smirk. "To be honest I think I prefer this version of Thor to the one truly related to me. This one seems to truly embrace me as family." Gee, Angela... wonder why the versions here haven't... maybe because for one reason or another you've battled and almost killed each of them?
Of course, Cosima didn't know that. She actually thought it was... sad that Angela wasn't so easily embraced for who she was. And entirely unfair. "Well, I look forward to meeting him." She rubbed her hands over Angela's bare hips. "You're so beautiful, Angela."
"And all yours." The warrior woman reminded her, those typically steely eyes gazing at Cosima with nothing but pure love and devotion. "That smile..." She mused, tracing a fingertip along the woman's lips. "It disarms me faster and more efficiently than any weapon ever could."
Cosima couldn't help it but smile then. "And these lips were made for kissing yours," she cooed, pressing up a little to do just that.
The redhead leaned in to happily kiss her lover, eyes fluttering closed. To Angela, this was pure bliss. The happiness she never thought she'd truly feel. To feel so loved, so wanted, absolutely and completely? It was the best thing she'd ever felt. "I have been alive for longer than you could even begin to comprehend... yet I believe this is the first time I have truly understood what 'love' means."
Cosima teared up a little there, then rolled her eyes at herself. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't get so emotional... it's just... that was actually a really powerful thing that you just said."
"I merely speak the truth." Angela told her, her voice showing a softness that she was only now beginning to grow comfortable with. "You have shown me that... not all Midgardians have the potential for betrayal and callousness. You are a treasure, my love. A treasure I intend to protect always."
