Sometimes, like now, Ronan wondered why the hell he was even here.
Except for the rare occasion when someone like Thanos or Galactus was a threat, there was no real need for an Annihilator-class power like The Accuser here. Hell, there were enough people among the refugees that had immense power.
But he knew, deep down, why he stayed: it was better than being alone. He was on the outs with the Kree, he was forced into terminating his marraige to Crystal... he had nobody now. At least here he had the few friends he'd managed to make.
Even though he knew why he stayed... sometimes? Being here annoyed him. Especially now. A patrol? A goddamn PATROL? Was there really no better use for a Kree Accuser than a simple patrol of Freedomtown?
He was pulled from his thoughts though, when Kahlan bumped into him. While he'd only been cutting through the gym on his way to the next part of his patrol, this was probably the most interaction with another person he'd had in weeks.
"There is nothing to apologize for." He told her, his deep, booming voice somehow both intimidating and comforting. "I suppose I should have been paying attention." He almost (almost!) cracked a smile when he spoke to her, if only because her eyes reminded him of Crystal's.
