Edward was still trying to get his head wrapped around living on another planet and even in another time. He was very pleased that Bella and the rest of his family was there. That was going to make his transition a lot less difficult. He moved in what he could in the large house. “It seems like you all have settled in here well. I’m just at a loss for what I should do next? We are not in Forks anymore.” Edward explained to Bella. “This feeling is quite new to me.”
It was a bittersweet feeling to have Edward there again. Bella was worried that the gem would take him back again. It hurt so much that her first thought when seeing him would be if that damn gem would take him back. She should just be happy to see him but it was hard to be when the last time turned out like it did. Especially for Renesmee who only got her father for a short time. Still when she looked at him a smile still kept across her face. "We've been here for a while," she said when looking around the house that lived in. "Over a year." She wasn't sure how to tell him that Renesmee grew up without him and only had memories of him from that last version that came to Galador. "It's weird at first but it starts to feel like home," Wherever her family was would be home to her.
Edward gave her a surprised look. “Oh wow, a year is a long time. I bet there was another me here too. I imagine that it would be weird if I ran into another me.” He studied the house. “I’m not not sure what to do with my own self. After the war, we jimmy lived happily ever after. I didn’t plan on doing anything more with my life.” He explained.
Bella didn't want to hide anything from Edward. She wanted him to what life was like here and that she still loved him very much. She always would no matter how long they were apart. "It is a long time. We have two daughters here, both Renesmee. One is barely over a year old and the other looks sixteen," They were both so beautiful. She counted herself lucky to have them both here with her. "One was born here. She's never... She wasn't raised by you." That didn't mean much. The last time Edward was here Renesmee seemed to be the happiest. "We don't have to do more. We can just live our lives here," It wasn't like it was much different than back home. "You don't have to hide here either. Vampires, werewolves, witches and more all live in the open." She knew there was still a few that kept their powers secret but that was there choice.
Edward took all of this information in. And he had been trying to wrap his head around it all. There were no people trying to hunt them down, even though they were peaceful. Here, he could have friends and not have to worry about hiding who he was, or accidently using his powers to dazzle people. He could just be Edward. He thought about what it would be like to have two daughters that were the same person. He could get to know them all over again. He was happy to have the opportunity. He could also have fun with his siblings and not worry about other vampires and evil things hunting them.
Edward suddenly leaned over and kissed Bella. "This is an amazing opportunity for me to live life the way that I have always wanted. It is an opportunity for me to not have to be the monster; I have always seen myself as. It’s an opportunity for us to be a normal family. That to me is a great gift. I'm not going to waste it either." Edward said with a smile. "But, the first thing I have to work on is getting settled in here, and understanding the lay of the land. This is not Earth. It’s a totally different planet. I want to explore, and have fun!" He told Bella.
Bella stood close by watching at Edward was processing what she just told him. She wondered what he would think about all of it. How this world was, having two daughters, not being there for the birth and life of one of them. It was a lot to tell someone when they first arrived but she didn't want him to be caught off guard. She figured it was best to rip off the band aid.
"It's an amazing opportunity for us," She said with a smile on her face. Although she never thought he was a monster and never could think that. "We can explore together. There's plenty of cities to take a look at but I think we should start with this one." Since they lived there. It would make it easier for him. At least she thought so.
Edward smiled. “I’m going to be glad to see the city and get to know our daughters. It doesn’t matter who raised them, I’m still me and you had a hand in raising them. So, I’m sure they are lovely young women. So, what will our living arrangements be?” He asked curiously.
Bella moved close to Edward. She couldn't believe that she had her family again. There were still a few missing but she would keep hope that she would see them again. "Well our room is here on the first floor, both Renesmees live here and sometimes Jacob stays the night in one of the spare rooms," There was plenty of space for them here. "Some time the younger one has sleepovers in her tree house in the back. It was a birthday gift from Esme and Carlisle."
Edward brought Bella close to him, and wrapped his arms around her. “A treehouse? That’s a really thoughtful gift from them. It would be nice for me to try and get along with Jacob and make amends so we aren’t at odds all of the time. Are you sure that you want me sharing the bed with you? I’m not the Edward that was here. Another me might come too. How weird would that be?” He asked curiously.
"It might be nice if the two of you got along," Bella laughed as she tried to picture the two of them getting along. She wasn't sure what exactly what that would be like. It would certainly make it easier. "He wasn't here for very long either. He got to meet Renesmee when she was almost looking like a teenager." It wasn't like there was going to be one that didn't feel her Edward but the truth was she arrived alone, right after their honeymoon just ended.
Edward laughed softly. “I would love to get along with Jacob. If he didn’t act like an idiot most of the time, maybe. And it would be great to see an older version of my daughter. I arrived just after a well fought vampire war. I’m almost worried that Riley and Victoria would follow me here too.” He replied with thought. “I’m wanting to see some of the city. Where do you suggest we go visit first?” He asked. “And can I get a tour of the house?”
"He's older now, not as territorial. I think you should be able to get along," Although she could never see the two of them as best friends. "Just try to be nice." She wondered if she should tell Edward that there was two of them on Galador. She hadn't really been around the younger one because she wasn't sure about having Renesmee imprint on him. The older had been around though and it didn't seem do anything. It had been a while since Bella worried about those names. "They could but I don't think we have to worry about them. If you want we can keep track of the resident list to see if their names turn up," Attacking would be stupid though. It wasn't something that would go unpunished. "I think we should start with a tour of the house then move on to the city," It was probably best that he know more about the place he'd be living. "So come on, follow me." She would show him around the large house that they had.
Edward smiled. “I would definitely try my best to get along with Jacob. I know older Jacob would probably do the same. I know he cares very much for you and Reneesme’. I also think it would be odd for the other vampires to attack. They do not attack without reason.” He motioned towards Bella. “Lead the way.”
That was really all she could ask for. It wouldn't be right for her to ask for more than that. "It's different from the house in Forks. It's not as modern but I like it," She wasn't sure if that would be an issue for him. She was hoping it wouldn't as any home was alright with her as long as they were together. "The kitchen is mostly for Renesmee and whatever friends she brings over. Jacob too when he comes over," So they did have a fully stocked fridge and pantry.
Edward gazed at all of the food which was impressive. “I can tell that I will need to put my cooking skills to the test again. Cooking is one thing that I enjoy doing. Which brings a question to my mind. Umm what do we eat? I have heard rumors of synthetic blood. That would be amazing if that were true.” He added.
"The house will certainly smell amazing. Except when Jacob's here," It was hard not to notice the smell of a wolf in the house. "There is. We have some here if you want to try it." She didn't mind the taste of it. It was actually pretty good but still she went hunting for an animal from time to time. "They come in glass bottles." She walked over to the fridge to grab him one.
Edward laughed at her comment about Jacob. “I’m going to have to get used to two Jacobs I suppose.” He accepted the synthetic blood. He sniffed it and made a face. “Ugh...it smells weird. But I will try it.” He took a sip. Then he licked his lower lip. “I will have to get used to this too. Oh that reminds me...why don’t we try having a family meal for thanksgiving? I’m sure that would be a good way to get everyone together.” He asked her curiously.
Bella watched as Edward started to taste the synthetic blood. It wasn't sure everyone but it was worth giving it a try. "We still hunt animals if that would be better for you," She said as she put the rest of the case back in the fridge. "You don't have to rush into changing everything." She wouldn't mind hunting with her husband if that's what he wanted to do. She still did it and wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon. "I think that would be a good idea. We can get everyone together," She was sure that Carlisle would be off but he worked in a hospital so there was the chance he wouldn't be. "Renesmee would love that."
“That sounds wonderful. I really like cooking and I miss it sometimes. Is there anything else in the house that you want to show me?” He finished synthetic blood and placed the vial on the counter. He licked his lips. “It oddly does the job, but is not very satisfying.” He gave a disappointed frown.
"Some people here feed from humans but there isn't a lot of killing. At least not that I've heard about," Bella said as she gestured for him to follow her. "Renesmee, both of them, still need to eat. So you can cook for them." She wanted to show him the bedrooms. They were a little extravagant but Alice was in their family so that normally went without saying. She wasn't sure what she'd do without Alice.
Edward smiled. “Of course, I would be very pleased to cook for them. I look forward to an opportunity to get to know Renesmee. Where I come from, she was just born.” He paused.” You haven’t shown me the bedrooms yet. If I know my sister Alice well, she decorated them herself. Am I right?” He laughed softly.
"Well, you know Alice," Bella said with a smile on her face as she looked briefly back on her husband. She started walking up the starts to look at some of the bedrooms. "Let's take a look at them." She figured she would be able to show him the rooms for the girls first. "You're going to be made but we do have a room set up for Jacob. Don't be, he rarely stays in it since he has his own place."
Edward smiled and shook his head. “Of course, I know Alice. I’m not mad at all. I knew something like that would happen sometime. If anything, I’m pleased that someone like Jacob is looking after Nessie.”
Bella was so glad that she had her husband with her again. She had originally arrived on Galador without Edward and they had just been heading home from their honeymoon. Thankfully she had Alice, for more than decorating the house. "Alice has been a lifesaver here. I'm not sure what I would have done without her," She really didn't. "But I'm glad you're here. I'm so happy and I know our life here will be amazing." She could only see good things for them. "I'm glad Jacob is her life too. Maybe not when she's little but I don't really get the imprint thing." That was just her but the younger Renesmee hadn't imprinted on Jacob. It wasn't something that she had to worry about.
“Alice has been really distant lately. I hope that I haven’t had anything to do with that. Then again, I haven’t exactly branched out either. This place is overwhelming to me. I have to take some time to get used to it. But, maybe a dinner party with a few familiar faces would help?” He mused out loud. Then he thought about Reneesme. “It’s hard to say with her. Maybe she has imprinted on Jacob and hasn’t told us. Or maybe we need to wait for the right timing. Things are strange here, that’s for sure. But, I’m glad that I have you in my life.” He said.
