Matthew was proud of his family. She'd heard so many wonderful things about Isabella, she couldn't help but feel as if she knew her. Still the fairy had butterflies in her stomach. Would they like her? That was her first thought and secondly, how was she going to keep from reading them.
When people were excited, their minds were too easy to read. Even doing her best to keep the thoughts out, it was extremely difficult. She was afraid she'd read the thoughts regarding her. That made her a little apprehensive. She'd make it work, and just ignore them if she could.
In her hands she carried a bottle of wine and a still hot Southern pecan pie. It was her Gran's recipe. If Matthew's family like pecan pies, they love this one, it was a State Fair award winner.
Taking a deep breath in, she sighed. Knocking on the door she waited. Behind that door would be her new family.
