Who: Cathy and Josh What: Kid free time Where: Josh's house When: Horribly backdated to Labor Day Warning: None
Half way through the BBQ at Josh's, Jory got fussy and Cathy could tell that he needed to lay down for a nap. "Mommy will be right back okay? I have to go find somewhere for Jory to lay down. You keep playing with Luna and I'll be right inside if you need me" She told Cory, smiling when he nodded and happily went back to playing with the dog. Looking from Cory to Josh, she gave him a 'follow me if you want' look then she grabbed the fussy toddler and headed inside. As much as she was enjoying getting to know all of his kids, she wondered if they could sneak in some alone time while they were inside laying Jory down. -- Josh gave a nod before getting Sally's attention before awkwardly motioning that he was going inside with Cathy and asking her to keep an eye on Cory for them. Once he was done being a doofus, he followed Cathy inside the house, his hand on the small of her back. "Come on," he said softly. -- Sally looked up from phone when Josh got her attention and she nodded her head, moving over to sit closer to Cory. Cathy had to laugh a little when the two began talking about how much Sally looked like Carrie. The kid didn't miss a thing. "I think it's going well" She said to Josh as they walked inside the house. She stopped to take her shoes off at the door, planning to stay inside for a little while. "Where can I lay him down?" She wondered, bouncing the toddler a little bit as he fussed more. -- "Well, I think that Sally's bed has the most pillows on it, if that's necessary," he offered. "Otherwise, we can just put him in my room. I'm not exactly prepared for this," he laughed softly. "And yeah, it is going well." -- She quickly thought about the options then answered as they headed upstairs. "We'll start in your room then lay him down in Sally's once he's asleep" She decided, thinking that would work better. She would be able to sooth him to sleep ten they could get alone time while he slept in the other room surrounded by a pillow wall so nothing would happen to him. Upon arriving in his room, she sat down on his bed and moved to she was resting against the headboard, adjusting Jory so she could rock him. "The joys of having a toddler" She joked as she looked up at him. -- Josh smiled, nodding as he scratched the back of his neck. "One of the stages I missed." He sat on the other side of the bed carefully, but still came off completely awkward, as he normally did. -- "Maybe you'll get a chance to see all of the stages here" She pointed out to him with a smile. Yes, he was hinting that she wanted to have a child ( or children ) with him in the future. Things were going smoothly with him now that all of their kids approved so that was a logical step in their journey that would come one day. When he move sit on the bed with her, she moved over and sat closer to him. -- Josh's cheeks began reddening as he laughed softly. "I was thinking of the stages that I've missed with him, actually. I'd love to experience that, as well. Even you know... the stuff leading up to that." -- "You seen some but just not as a father" She pointed out, thinking about when they met in person and how much time they spent together between then and now. Jory had a lot of milestones during that time and Josh had been there for a lot of them. "You know, trying for a baby is just as fun as having one, if not more" She pointed out with a cheeky grin as Jory began to settle down. -- Josh's cheeks turned bright red as he nodded. "Sadly, that's something I could use a little more practice with. I mean yeah, I was married, but since we were both wolves, a lot of the consummations took place during the full moon." He left it at that, leaving that up to her imagination. He looked down at Jory, smiling softly, "he's perfect." -- Cathy went wide eyed at that as she pictured that in her mind. A married couple that only had sex once a month and as wolves? That was no way to live life. "That's terrible" She commented, not really sure what else to say. She decided maybe sharing her own sexual past might help things.
"Before Julian, Jory's father, I'd only had sex twice" She told him, a little embarrassed about that and the fact that both times had been with her brother. She wasn't going to mention that, of course. Josh probably wouldn't want to be with her knowing that and the last thing she wanted to do was screw it up. "I was really focused on school and dance class"
When he mentioned Jory being perfect, she looked down at her son as she continued to rock him and she smiled. "Yeah he is" She agreed, leaning down to kiss his forehead.- -- Josh nodded with a sigh, "I'm not even sure why she stayed with me. I accidentally turned her while she was only barely interested. We may have been married, but I still felt like things were touch and go when I came here. I hate to say that I was surprised to hear that not only we were still together nearly twenty years into the future, but the kids never noticed any signs of things being shaky." He shrugged, "maybe it was my paranoia."
He sighed, looking down, "I've always been awkward and second guessing myself. I've always been a good nurse, though. Just... let's make sure that I never scratch or bite you. Unless that's what you want." -- "Obligation?" She guessed with a shrug of her shoulders. Why does anyone do anything, really? It was hard to tell motivation when she didn't personally know the woman. She could only go off of what he was saying. "Maybe it was. You're not paranoid about us are you?" She wondered, the room a lot quiet now because Jory had fallen asleep while he was talking. She shook her head at his mention about her wanting to be bitten or scratched to be like him. "I don't. I'm perfectly fine being a human" -- Josh nodded, wanting to fully respect her wishes. He lowered his voice, "I actually feel incredibly comfortable with you. I'm not sure if it's you, or this place, I don't care. Being around you just feels right." -- She smiled at his response and leaned over to kiss him, letting that say her worse for her at first. She held it for a long moment then she pulled away as she adjusted Jory in her arms. "I feel the same way, Josh. Why don't we go lay him down in Sally's room then come back in here for a while? Cory should be fine outside with Sally. He likes her" -- His cheeks reddened as he nodded again after returning the kiss, "I'm sure the fact that she looks a lot like Carrie helps." He slid his arm around her, resting his hand on the small of her back. "This way," he whispered. -- Getting up, she held Jory so his head rested on his shoulder and she followed him into Sally's room. Laying the little boy down, she surrounded him with pillows then covered him up. She tucked herself back under Josh's arm after Jory was all comfortable and walked back into his room with him. -- Once they were back into his room, he let out a heavy sigh. "I can't believe we're here." He paused, blinking before quickly recovering, "not in my room, here. Like... My kids are cool with me dating, here." -- "We were just in here" She teased with a smile, knowing what he meant as she settled back on the bed with him. "I wasn't sure we would get there either. Teenagers can be so fickle" -- "There's apparently a lot about my son that even my future self doesn't know about, so I don't feel that bad about it," Josh frowned a little, taking her hand and walking over to the bed and sitting down in a seemingly rather innocent manner. -- "You can change that here" She pointed out, giving him an encourging look. Once he was on the bed with her, she moved over and wrapped her arms around him. "How about no more talk about our kids for right now? And we take advantage of our alone time while we can?" She asked, leaning down to place a few kisses on his neck. -- Josh let out a soft chuckle, his cheeks turning red. "Well, I guess we could take advantage of a little alone time. It would be a shame if we didn't." -- "I'm glad you agree" She replied as she began moving her kisses around his neck until she was up to his lips. There she started off kissing him softly then she deepened the kiss after a few moments. -- As they continued kissing, he slowly laid back against the pillows on his side. It wasn't like he hadn't done this before, but he always had the tendency to act like a awkward teenager any time he got a girl in bed. He ran his fingers along her hip slowly, trying not to freak out and break the kiss.
