Riley's chest was fluttering, she was anxious, wanting to see Jamie and also wondering why he had not said it back. In reality, she knew that him saying it online was not very romantic, but still, a part of her was now hopeful.
She had not felt this way since high school when she had loved Lucas. It was strange to not feel that way for him anymore. In the long run, she knew that with Lucas it had not been love. This with Jamie was real.
She straightened up her tiny little apartment with the bay window that she had added herself because she had to have the window in her place. She loved her apartment and how close it was to Topanga's.
As soon as she straightened up she paced the floor by the front door and when he knocked she bounced to the door, flung it open, after peering through the peep hole to make sure it was him and grinning she stood in the doorway, and it was almost as if she was back in middle school, as she said, "Hi," shyly like she and Lucas used to greet each other, except with Jamie her heart fluttered as she looked into his eyes. Her cheeks felt hot, her body felt weak as she stood there, forgetting to invite him in.
