The door opened and his heart skipped a beat because he knew it was her even though she was a little younger looking than the Maya he had just left. His Maya had been about to turn 25. This one looked college-age still. But all the same, his face glowed at the sight of her, all feelings rushing back. Apparently it did not matter which version, it had always been Maya. Interesting.
