He smiled, he had to smile when she admitted how much she liked school and reading. Stiles wasn't the A student that he could be, often slacking off during class but he was smart. His knowledge just happened to be overly proficient in subjects that weren't included in the SAT's.
"No, no. You are actually, I mean from what you are telling me you sound pretty exciting." His smile only widened a bit further while he watched her speak about her tongue piercing fiasco. "So wait, do you still have it pierced? Not sure I'd be able to take a younger version of my own father seriously if he told me to take it out or something." Then again he had a hard time imagining his own father as a younger version and around his age where Leave it to Beaver wasn't some sort of staple for the way to live. Shaking the thought he focused on Rose though, which was easy.
"That's not entirely going wrong, that was just being unfortunate the way it played out. Outrageous behavior is good every now and then though. It keeps things interesting." His brow raised and he snickered a bit before finishing up his cup of coffee. Not that he was in a rush to get out of there either.
